The right way to say is a really nice place for people with family and kids a lot of activities to do, entertainment for the whole family, food included the rates are really good, I just think that this is not the correct place for people that are looking relaxing and private and quiet place, but instead for people that are looking activities and actions party and good food. is great place depending of that your looking for.

Unfortunately our experience in this hotel started from the moment we checked in. The receptionist that helped us on our check in was Karla Barquero, she failed to explain where were the restaurant, and quickly told us the times, my mom asked her if she could write down the times so we wouldn’t forget and she took a deep breath and told us it was on the paper with the key. She never smiled or made us feel welcome while we were there, she just looked annoyed like she just wanted to leave. Sadly, this was not our only negative experience with the hotel, when we arrived in the room the bathtub had soap on the corners, and there was no towels in the room, the ac wasn’t working, the mini fridge was empty, and the door was not working. I told two staff member about this issues but nothing was done, my boyfriend had to go personally to the lobby and complain for them to finally do something about it. Our biggest disappointment was there was no WiFi, this was a huge inconvenience for me since I do all my work online. if I would have known WiFi was $14 a day, I would have booked somewhere else. The food was ok, not much variation. I only enjoyed the restaurant near the beach it had an amazing view. I personally would not recommend this hotel, I have been all over Costa Rica and this hotel needs major renovation, better customer service, and better food. The hotel is over crowded and it’s not relaxing at all. pool was filthy with people leaving cups behind.

It's a nice place.
Strong points:
1- The service 😎
2- The rooms are good.
3- The variety of activities.
4- Beautiful nature views.
Weak points:
1- The food is not bad, but just normal.
2- Internet connection is super bad :(

The rooms are very outdated. I came here over 20 yrs ago and everything looks the same. Too much money for the room (We are a big family) although the beds are super comfortable.

So so, beach is not that nice, otherwise the food and entertainment are about the same as most other all inclusives in Costa Rica

The buffet was great, however the snacks were awful, the waiting time for your room when check in is absolutely ridiculous! You have to wait until 330 pm and it was not ready! We had to tell the receptionist we were not going to give the hotel more time to give us our room so they could take actions!

Good experience. Food is good, staff is good. Just be warned that there is a croc in the water and they're not letting people go in. I wish we had known that before booking.

While Barceló Tambor is a beautiful place with great access to the beach, all inclusive food/drink, and awesome grounds and pools, it has some areas of needed attention. This is my second visit to this location. I take tour groups through Costa Rica each year. Both times visiting here I have noticed that the facilities are in need of maintenance including plumbing issues, door knobs, finish work, etc. Also the food and personal service is better at Tambor's sister property, the Langosta in Tamarindo.

Very nice but not quite totally included as they promised. They charge for almost everything. Only paid internet, and paid beers except for a couple of draft beer, they ran out of sodas cokes early, etc. The customer service was great though.

Quiet place for vacation. Walk possible to Tambor harbour along the beach.
You can also swim in the sea outside the wide swimming pool.
To do : Montezuma falls at 10 km, boat tour to Tortuga island, Capo Blanco Natural Park

The sheets were blood stained and I believe I was bitten by fleas all night. I reported the issue to check-in staff and they made it very clear that couldn't care less. Great waste of money. Don't Stay Here!
