Pretty nice hostel on shanghai city center

This hostel discreetely offers a small rebate (5CNY) to customers in exchange of 5-start reviews on travel websites such as Agoda, Booking, TripAdvisor After discussing a bit, one of the staff proudly told me that "this trick was working very well". Which I translate by: most, if not all, of their 5-star reviews are fake!
To compensate a bit this cheated bias and unacceptable policy, I give them here the lowest score, though they would overall deserve 2 or 3 stars, but definitely no more (and staff is not worth any star at all).
Here's what to really expect:
The hostel is near a subway station, but far out of the center, so you cannot reach any place to visit just by walk.
Very big hostel (~100 rooms/dorms), but very small common area in comparison: only one big table and one small table, which means it is almost always crowded and regularly you cannot find any seat. Very unpractical to discuss with people and chill out. There is one big "bar / club", with zero atmosphere (almost always rather empty), overpriced drinks and food, and playing continuously very loud and bad music. Several times, when the common area was overcrowded, people asked them to stop the music, so that we could relax and talk in the bar area too, but the staff refused, saying that it was a "club", thus loud music was required
No wifi access in the rooms or anywhere outside the common area. In the common area, rather slow wifi, but alright for Chinese standards. The hostel gives access to one computer, but you have to pay 1CNY/15min for it (technically, you have to pay for just about everything there). Laundry is 20CNY + 10CNY for dryer.
Most of the staff speaks English, but none is them is nice. They know enough info about the city to provide basic info, but don't expect a smile or any form of politeness whatsoever. They reminded me of French administration and that says a lot ^^
Both rooms and bathrooms are quite large and clean, and beds are alright too. All good on that aspect.
Plenty of really cool people there, travelers, English teachers, etc. and I had great time with them in Shanghai! So that's a very good point too (though I guess that's true for most hostels I have been too in high season :)).
Overall, if you are on a tight budget (I am) and they happened to be the cheapest in town at the time bcz of some rebate, that might be worth it. Otherwise, especially if you are there only for a few days and want to make the best of your time, you can find much better.response / report this review -

Very good hostel. Perfect rooms, helpful staff, even has a bar/restaurant. Only downside is the very bad WiFi.

El sitio es chulo y se encuentra fácil desde el metro. La posición es correcta y desde la calle se ve un cartel luminoso que dice donde está. La habitación que cogimos era de 2 plantas y genial. Es bastante recomendable. Los recepcionistas saben inglés y salvo uno, el resto fueron muy majos. La lavandería cuesta 20 yuanes la lavadora y 10 la secadora. Nuestra ropa no se seco bien y tuvimos que sacarla en muestra habitación. Se puede pagar con tarjeta no china, pero te hacen un recargo del 5%.
