My daughter and I recently made an impromptu trip to Zurich and was recommended this property. The property was quaint and located in a fantastic location that was convenient to everything Zurich! The staff were polite, personable and helpful with directions and offering restaurant advice.

Such a wonderful place. Room 10 was lovely with blue matching decor all very romantic. Comfortable bed and pillows. Nice breakfast. Lovely service with chocolates on our bed every night. Handy location . Safe as well. We will be back. Loved the welcome prosecco.

The Romatik is an amazing hotel, the staff are exemplary especially Maurice and Sebastian who were really helpful and accommodating with all requests.
The rooms are good and well equipped and all requests are met.
The only issue that I had was with the information provided on the proximity to Train Station, the hotel is quite close to a train station, however, all information states that is it about 10 - 15 minutes walk from the main station which means that one would take a cab rather than lugging all baggage, actually there is a connection from main station every 3 minutes to a close by station to the hotel which reduces the time to less than 5 minutes to the hotel thus saving on cab costs (which are quite high).
Secondly the hot breakfast is a slight confusion - I had requested for some hot meal information and didn't get any feedback which was slightly disappointing and the person who serviced our room was a little in a rush as didn't even look at glasses that needed cleaning and just tidied the room and that was it
other than these two minor issues, the rest was amazing and I would most certainly return there for my next trip to Zurichresponse / report this review -

Lots to commend about this hotel. Fantastic location. Lovely lobby and breakfast area. Large, comfortable rooms with BALCONY. Three suggestions for improvements: (1) The bulky keys for each room need to be replaced with a modern key-card system, (2) The doors are challenging to lock, which was annoying, and (3) Maybe consider some soy milk in the breakfast area

Romantik Hotel Europe is a beautiful hotel, both inside and outside. The rooms are very sweet, comfortable bed, aircondition(!) and all other facilities. The bathroom is very clean with a nice design. It is very quiet and peaceful. The breakfast was very nice too. The connection from the entrance in to the bar/restaurant gives you a welcoming overall feeling. I will definitely recommend this hotel as well as my business associates that visited me at the hotel bar.

We had a really great experience at the Hotel Europe. I would definitely go back. The rooms were tastefully furnished to a classic traditional theme appropriate for Zurich.
The wifi on the fourth floor was excellent and breakfast was more than adequate. The staff and owners were very friendly and helpful to us.
The location of the hotel just on the lake is ideal and the main shopping street and old town are about 10/15 minutes walk away.

After traveling through Europe all week, with temps approaching 32C (near 90F) nearly everywhere, we were somewhat apprehensive about the lack of ACbut pleasantly surprised as hotel does have a central cooling system using frigid lake water, and was very comfortable. The ownership and staff went above and beyond in service and hospitality, bar and meal presentation was top-notchwith special efforts made to make our stay memorable. The superb location less than a half block from the lakefront offers world class dining and entertainment, but is enough removed to be relaxing. We arrived on Saturday end of June, and while the party scene went late and sounded fun, we were easily able to rest up for an early flight. They even had breakfast ready 45 minutes before advertised, so our family of 5 was delighted to enjoy the included meal. We highly recommend this family-owned boutique hotel, and hope to return someday soon. Next time we'll start our trip in Zurich!

The location is very good and handy for the lake as well as the town and stations.
Restaurant food could do with being improved and also the menu extended as currently it is a very small/limited menu.
Breakfast choice could also be improved and eggs should be included in the price. Also there should be a bit more flexibility in timing. A couple came in on the Monday morning at 10am or even a minute or so beforehand and were told they were too late! They went to the hotel across the road and got served.

The hotel was clean and the service was good. The location was perfect, just behind the Opera house. However, I've been put in a room with a single bed, which should have been spelled out when I've booked (I travel a lot for work and this has been the first time in my life I encountered this). Even so, the hotel itself is decent enough and I have no major complaints.

Excellent location. Great, helpful staff (especially Maurice). Smallish room. No air conditioning. Loud neighbors heard through an ajoining room. Hot water could have been a few degrees warmer. I enjoyed my visit (6 nights ) but would not go back in warm weather.

Extremely overpriced, TV did not work, staff does not understand English they only speak Swiss to mostly international clients. The breakfast room was insane hot and the rooms so&so. It might be a reasonable 2/3* hotel but for sure not a 4*
