We had a nice stay in Hotel Perren. It wasn't overly expensive, and the rooms didn't look dorm-like, like a lot of the other hotels in the area did when we were doing our research.
Pros:
1. Free breakfast - I know, technically it's build into the price of your room, but it's nice to have breakfast right in the hotel lobby. They have a small buffet of cured meats, cheeses, sausage or bacon, scrambled eggs, boil-your-own- eggs, yogurt, pastries, fruit, and someone will serve you coffee/tea at the table
2. 10 minute walk to the train station
3. Rooms are spacious and clean
Cons:
1. Elevators are a tad old
2. Their site said they had a free shuttle to the train station but when we asked about it for when we were leaving, they said it was 2 CHF each. Also, the last pick-up from the train station is around 8 or 8:30, so if you're getting in after that, you'll have to walk with your luggage. But the walk isn't so bad
3. No one mans the reception desk after 10, so it was a good thing we got there before thenresponse / report this review -

Very nice stay and hotel. Very nice and clean rooms. We had a fantastic view of the Matterhorn from our window. Loved hearing the river during the night as we kept our windows open. The only downer on this trip was the car train to Tasch. Wasn't expecting that - 15 minutes of pitch dark..can't roll down windows because of exhaustclaustrophobic nightmarealso made one of our party very ill as there was no visual to see where you were going. Never want to do that again, even for 15 minutes.

Nice place to stay in a beautiful town. All the prices in this area will be similar but this includes breakfast and a free shuttle to and from the train station.

Very clean. Nice balconies with view of town. Easy walk to grocery and stores. Stay on 4th floor if possible for best view. Large bathroom.
