Convinent location within the city. Nicely spaced rooms with a great view of the city. Hotel staff were helpful and friendly.
Beautiful view and not too pricey
My room faced Mettahorn mountain (the one pictured in Toblerone). View was incredible. Four course dinner as well as breakfast was superb. Our room also had a crib for the 1 year old. Viewing area was open to everyone for 24 hours and train within stone's throw reach.
Really once in a lifetime experience for us. Incredible view of Mt. Matterhorn from our room is unbeatable. We can see beautiful milky way at night. Room rate is high but comes with pretty good dinner and breakfast.
Stayed here for one night, though quite expensive, we decided to get the room with the Matterhorn view. We were so excited when we were told that our room was the only room with a balcony looking straight at the Matterhorn. OMG, it was such a joy staying in this wonderful room at a height of over 3000m above sea level, watching the sunset from our room as the sun dropped slowly behind the Matterhorn. My husband even took his camera, went out to shoot the milky way and he was not disappointed! It was quite a once in a life time experience! Definitely worthwhile! Service staff was excellent also! Very satisfied! Also had a nice dinner in the dinning room with views!
The hotel is great, the rooms perfect - with a Scandinavian touch in a very positive sense. Every room has a spectacular view - Matterhorn or Monte Rosa. The Restaurant is hotel guests only - at least in the evening as nobody else is (can be) there. The food is great. The service - depends on the person doing it, but is basically ok. Wasn't there much during the day went skiing :-)
Awesome view, and nice room in 3100 hotel. We also have a dinner that evening, and soup with shrimp is my favorite. Maindish is quite good( fired chickens with risotto, another one is pan fried fish with horseradish ) I really enjoy it with my wife.
Giod gateway, quite anf breathtaking at the same time
Great hotel, amazing view and very friendly staff. I would also recommend the dining with the stars and visit of the observatory on Thursday evenings ; really interesting visit !
Very good hotel. I love the view from here. You can see Matterhorn untill you get bored. Staffs are professional and service oriented.
Did the hike there on the fall, going through the lakes -- took about 6.5 hours, leaving from Zermatt train station and with a plenty of stops. The transition from ground to snow was amazing, and the last 800m up are just fabulous! Highly recommend it.
Great place to have a beer and see some incredible mountains! A little expensive to get there but I imagine it would be nice to spend a night up there if I had the money. Great service from the people and some nice shops but they close fairly early around 4 but that's normal for Switzerland. There are also a number of trails you can do but it's literally on a mountain so it'll be steep. I took the train up with the UBS discount so it was 10 francs but if you don't have the bank card it's 90 francs. So a little pricey.
