The Truck Convoy for Special Olympics is an annual event which unites Law Enforcement and the Transportation Industry to raise funds for Special Olympics athletes. 2018 marks the 17th anniversary of the inception of the event. Since it began in 2001, more than 15,000 trucks – big rigs to dump trucks – have traversed more than 8,000 km.
Previous participants can attest to how rewarding taking part in the Truck Convoy is:
“I had a very rewarding experience participating in the Truck Convoy for Special Olympics. This was my second year participating in the Convoy and I was fortunate to have an athlete ride along with me this year. I was also the lead truck pulling Bison Transports new Special Olympics Trailer. It was awesome hearing about all the athletes wanting a ride in it.
It is a very rewarding experience to be a part of, and it is amazing talking to and getting to know some of the athletes. I encourage anyone thinking about it to join us next year!”
In Calgary, 1,700 Special Olympics athletes will benefit, as funds raised will support sports and programs in the area.
Join us on SEPTEMBER 22nd
Registration begins at 8:00 am. Join us for breakfast from 8am until 9:45 am. The Driver’s meeting is at 9:45 am, and the Convoy will begin at 10:00 am from the Rosenau Terminal at 234180 Wrangler Rd SE in Rocky View.

Happy Truckin' Week Friday!
We would like to take this opportunity to feature a wonderful driver - Gord Matthews - who is new to our Curtainside Division, but not new to Tri-Line! Gord started out his Tri-Line career in our Dedicated Waste Division and after a short hiatus away has returned to join us now on Curtainside Super B's and tells us he is enjoying it. Previously, Gord worked 12 years as an electrician before he decided to return to driving and we are happy he did! His managers at Tri-Line say that "he is professional, courteous, and will go above and beyond the call of duty when required". Additionally "he is mindful of equipment and has not had any damage incidents". They also say that he is an exceptional communicator, has a positive attitude, and has excellent management skills. Good work Gord! We asked him where his favorite place to travel on duty is, and Gord told us it's Saskatoon! Off-duty though, his favorite place for a vacation is Vegas :) In his free time Gord loves to spend time with his family/grandchildren, work with wood (carpentry), hunt, fish, and enjoy outdoor activities. Watch out for Gord in our Tri-Line Driver Spotlight being released later today. Have a great weekend everyone!
