Hey everyone our printer has recently bit the dust (a very rambuctious pup knocked it off the counter) Does anyone have an extra kicking around and are willing to donate it?

We have had an unbelievable response to this special case, and words cannot describe how grateful we are for all your support for Noah.

We are doing our absolute best to schedule everyone in to help out with Noah's recovery. We will be responding to everyone's request to lend a hand so we are asking everyone to be patient.

In the meantime we are asking everyone out there who may not be able to directly help with Noah to raise awareness for all the special pups who have a long recovery process ahead of them. With the hashtag #noahwalks we aim to show support for all our furry friends. So take a picture with your favourite little gal or guy and a sign with the hashtag #noahwalks to remind them how much they mean to us.

Thanks everyone and we can't wait to see some great photos! <3

SPECIAL CASE AND DOG WALKER NEEDED at 10724-124st in edmonton: This is Noah and he was rescued from a northern community. He's had a rough go at life so far. We aren't sure if Noah was ever owned or not but someone tied this poor dog up and continuously shot him. He is covered on pellets as you can see on the xrays and one of the pellets got lodged in the joint of his front leg making him lame. He then somehow escaped and was running loose in the community and ended up getting into a brawl with a porcupine so his face was covered in quills. The ASPCA received a call about this dog and after a few weeks of trying to catch him they finally did. He was then transferred to us so we could find him a loving home. The vets got all the quills they could out, cleaned him up and x-rayed him. They retrieved the pellet out of his joint but unfortunately Noah has radial nerve damage. We are trying really hard to save his leg so we need someone's help. We are going to be bringing Noah to the WHARF office in Edmonton 10724-124st everyday and if there is anyone that is free to come and walk Noah for about an hour a day so that he can try and get movement back in his joint. We really don't want to amputate Noahs leg. We think this dog has gone through enough. Please message us if there is even one day a week that you can sign up to walk Noah. He's really gentle and good on the leash.

This is Jeffery and he was surrendered from a family in Saskatchewan that couldn't afford to fix his leg after he broke it. They ended up taking him home and leaving it. After a few months of dragging it it ended up having bad nerve damage and the bones fused in a way the vet couldn't fix it. He was brought to wharf where we took him to the vet and the best they could do was amputate. Jeffery is having a speedy recovery as he was 3 legging it for a while already. So this isn't new to him. He is the cutest boy ever with the stubbiest legs. He is a young corgi x fully vetted and now ready for adoption. If you would like to donate towards his vet bills please click the donate button or head to our website. Wharfrescue.ca

Jeffery is now up for adoption!

Please keep any negative comments off this feed. Some families don't have the means to spend on vet bills and also do not know that rescues are willing to help out.

This is Roads and he was rescued by an amazing lady named Sarah. She was driving home after transporting some dogs to us from Saskatchewan and came across this cat that was hit by a car just laying on the road. She stopped to check to see if he was still alive and as she was walking up to him she heard a little mew. She carefully picked him up and drove him straight to the whitecourt vet clinic where our vets could hopefully make him better. After an assessment and xrays the vets called with great news. Nothing broken, a bit of internal bleeding, some cuts and a lot of bruises. After some rest fluids and pain meds and a week in the vet clinic he finally was ready to come to wharf. Here are his before and after pictures. he us now ready for adoption. It's hard to believe what he looked like on the road to now.

I know it's really sad but if you see an animal laying on the road please stop to check them. if it weren't for Sarah poor Roads could have suffered alone on the road.

Here is a wonderful update on the most publicized dog we have had come through the rescue in 12 yrsTheo!! Always stand-up for what you believe in, updates like these make all bullying and bad mouthing worth it.

Hi Ashley and Jamie! This is #@$*& who adopted Theo last September :) we have been having the most fun this summer with him and as we promised to keep in touch I thought I would send you guys some recent pictures of his adventures! He went hiking in Jasper (he LOVED it!), he lost a pound so he's getting less chunky, he went camping in a tent and then a trailer, he has started learning how to run with his dog-dad (and is really liking it), and we have walked through every dog park in the city! We have also been working hard on his anxiety and helping him relax, and I am really happy to tell you we have overcome most of this! No more barking all evening and "protecting" the house! He is so much happier and relaxed, although he will always be a mama's boy and follows e everywhere(which I can't lie, I love haha). And he has so many dog friends! We love him so much. Thank you for all work with him, we are working hard to give him the best life we can!He is majestic and chubby! Haha I'm trying so hard to help him lose a bit more, he has lost a whole pound, vet would be happy with one more so he is on his way! haha he's doing so well 😊 he's not scared of other dogs anymore which is great! Now he can make dogs friends haha I hope everything is settling for you guys with the legal stuff!

    😜🐶

SPECIAL CASE!!! This is Wheels and she has stolen everyones heart, she is the sweetest most happy little girl out there.

We got a call late one night from a lady who rescues off northern communities about a little kitten that was attacked by some dogs, the little kitten was about 8 weeks old and couldn't move it's back legs. It was a very far drive for her but she was willing to drive it to Whitecourt because she was so worried about her. When Wheels arrived she was in a bit

I adopted both my rescues a couple of years ago and I couldn't be happier.

I found their pictures on the website and after reading their bios decided I wanted them. I didn't even meet them first. They were brought to me in Kamloops as I didn't have transportation which I really appreciated.

They came to me with no bad habits and are the sweetest most loving dogs that I have ever had the pleasure to have as part of my family. There have been many dogs before them but these two fit perfectly into our family. Great job,Wharf Rescue.❤️❤️❤️

I adopted my first dog, Landon, from WHARF in 2011. There was something about this scared dog that made me hit the "Inquire" button under his photo on the website. I didn't think I'd get a reply as soon as I did (that night!) but I had also arranged to meet him a few days later! It was love at first sight! Six years later, and I love him even more! Thanks WHARF for giving me my heart!

WHARF does amazing work connecting people with the animals they rescue. Our daughter and her husband provide a foster home for their rescue dogs and on Boxing Day we adopted our Alysha (a 12-week old Collie-Shepherd cross). Thank you WHARF for providing this invaluable service to the community.

We adore WHARF and the two magnificent women who run it. We have four fur babies adopted from WHARF. We have adopted 5; one of our fur babies died despite intense medical intervention (he had an extremely rare genetic condition that was not evident at the time of adoption, but WHARF offered to pay for the thousands of dollars in surgery-- we didn't allow that because other animals needed that money and we could (then) afford it and also because when you adopt, it's a commitment. But that's the kind of generous rescue WHARF is.) Our whole family loves a visit to WHARF (though we have to limit ourselves because we want to adopt all the animals!) WHARF has been amazing always; we are so grateful for all the work they do and for the wonderful impact they have on our neighbourhood.
