A nice facility and well located. However, when visiting on the long weekend, parking staff failed to reserve the designated rv parking for trailers and large campers. This left those we were travelling with without a suitable parking spot. There were many designated spots available but they were often filled with smaller vehicles.
Really helpful and informative staff. Gave us great advice which helped us to make the most of the prevailing conditions. They directed us to some good hikes and have useful tips (like making sure to arrive very early at the busy sites).
Very clean and well lit for a rest stop. Also very busy, seems like a meeting spot for road bikers and mountain bikers alike. Large parking lot and information center.
Useful info and maps. Clean washroom. Ample parking space.
Fantastically helpful staff at a well appointed facility. Persia helped us plan all of our road bike rides and scrambles as well as mountain biking suggestions. Katie was remarkably informative and helpful with climbing suggestions and directions to crags. She even allowed us to look at a personally owned guidebook. Thanks for going so above and beyond! The climbs and memories were fantastic! Can't wait to come back for more!
Alberta Visitors Center in Canmore
Katie provided personal vacation planning (June 2017) like none other. This friendly, efficient and knowledgeable young employee created a 6-day personal itinerary including excursions, best travel time, directions, dining and parking information for us. Katie's assistance was invaluable that made our vacation truly a success. A Visitor Centers is a must in every place we travel but never have we had someone go beyond the extra mile. Again Katie, thank you for making a difference in this successful vacation trip.
Nice place to gathering information and also free WiFi
Washroom facilitys Open daily 7 am to 10 pm really clean and beautifull view outside!!!
The people here are super knowledgeable about everything there is to know about Canmore.
It has everything you want in a visitor centre: easy in and out from the highway, spotlessly clean washrooms, and lots of maps and brochures. We didn't want to wait for the staff members who were busy helping people with their complex questions who obviously hadn't checked the web , but were able to take a map and be on our way.
As someone very familiar with the area I never stopped here until I had kids and bathroom breaks on road trips became a lot more frequent. To that end this is a good place to stop with large, clean bathrooms. There are a few picnic tables on the grass outside making it a decent place to stop to tire out the kids a little also. The information centre itself has plenty of pamphlets for the surrounding area and all of Alberta.
