Good beer and atmosphere. The food is terrible!! Should have figured it out when the waitress told us the little yorkies were premade

Great food and beer. I have been here numerous times over the years and alway had a great meal. Recommend the soups and today had Liver & Onions with Bacon gravy, mashed potatoes and vegetables just like the best homemade food outstanding.

Have been coming to St. James Gate for years whenever staying in Banff. The service was nothing out of the ordinary however the food was not good at all. The lamb stew was basically cold and my wife's chicken bacon leek pie pastry was uncooked. We used to recommend to people but that will no longer happen as well as us not being return customers. Very disappointing 👎🙁

We are here on the weekend while visiting Banff and enjoyed ourselves.

My wife and her parents had the "cottage pie" which was very much like a shepherds pie while I enjoyed a burger and (of course) my wife and I shared a poutine.

We all chose a drink from the very many (and some seasonal!) options available.

Nice atmosphere, standard service and decent food. We'll keep the pub in mind when we're back if nothing new strikes our fancy.

Waited 20 minutes after getting drinks. Server took orders of people after we arrived and spent 15 minutes talking to people while taking their money. Worst service ever. After leaving I witnessed a manager telling at kitchen staff smoking outside to "Wash their F-ing hands THIS time."

Good food in a lovely pub atmosphere. Large choice of drinks but they were out of a few of our favourite ciders. Sevier was wonderful.

A Proper pint. Specials ever day. We ate from their Thursday "Irish Pub Fair" menu. Had their "Steak and Guinness Pie". Probably one of the best meals I've had at a pub. Most likely the best place in town for tap selection.

Good selection of beer. Menu is well presented and we'll done. Sausage and mash is a great one. Good ambiance after a day of skiing or for a business lunch.

Great service. In a town of Aussies actually had an Irish fella wait on myself and a friend. Really brought the whole experience together. Food was good, classic Irish dishes, guiness was well poured and tasty as always. Actually stumbled in here as many other restaurants had lengthy lines and wait lists, St James was busy but still able to seat us quickly and not push for a fast turn over. Will be back
