We arrived in Mississauga coming from Washington D.C. today for business. We decide to have our dinner at Roman Zaman.
Let me start telling a story about our experience at this lovely restaurant.
The first impression is just perfect. Once you open the door you’re going to smell the aroma of the Sham Well Known Spices, Olive oil and herbal scents. That feeling by itself is an amazing experience itself. It took me years back to the shiny old city of Damascus and the old streets of the old Sham.
The decorations just reflects the lovely cultural of Damascus old city.
The menu is very elegant, appealing, clear and easy to understand.
The variety of the appetizers, salads, soup, hot appetizers, drinks, sandwiches & BBQ are just perfect for any taste.
We decided to order almost 90% of the menu to have the chance to try everything.
Roman Hummus, Tabouleh, Fetteh Beef, Kebbeh Niyeh, Chicken Liver, Naqanik, Roman Shawarma, Mixed Grill and more
honestly everything was just amazing and perfect. The taste of the food gives you the feeling that you’re sitting in an old Syrian house eating homemade food.
The ingredients are just the best quality.
The Owner Mr. Nabil is such a nice, hospitable and caring person, he’s really really kind and hard working man.
We’ve literally visited thousands of restaurants and food establishments from Damascus to Beirut , Istanbul to Cairo, Amman to Baghdad, Geneva to Paris , New York to Washington DC. But this establishment is the the best we’ve ever experienced in a decade.
Good job guys , we really wish you all the success in your business journey.

I like the place and the food. But you guys have a big problem. You don't take reservations and even if we make it to the restaurant we stand at the door without any one taking the time to greet us or tell us about the wait time or if there is a place. So we drive all the way from Toronto and take our luck without even being told if we should wait or not. Why don't you at least assign one of your people at the door to let people know what they should do. Waited for nothing and ended up going to another Middle eastern restaurant.

Rude Staff, I wait 10 min on door just to wait the waiter to guide me to my table , the food extremely bad I ordered chicken Shawerma plate and the chicken was dry and cold , the fries like junk
the prices is not reasonable compared with food quantity and quality
the order was Shawrema plate + chicken wrap + Salad and I paid 63$ !!!!

Ive been living in the GTA for the last 6 years, therefore never tasted a PROPER eastern food like this restaurant before. I have tried almost everything in their menu. Purposely was trying to pick on something to complain about, but its almost impossible to find it. The environment of the restaurant was amazing, the food was delicious, even the washrooms were set up uniquely different. I have never seen a restaurant owner coming to his customer to make sure the experience was good; it happened to us and others each time we went there. Thank you Roman Zaman for rising the Syrian/Middle eastern food in the GTA highly up.

Bad customer service. Made reservations 2 weeks ago for a group of 23 people for Monday long weekend and 2 days prior I get a message saying they are cancelling my reservation due to not taking reservation for weekend or holidays. Why wasn't I notified earlier and why should I suffer because of their staff error. They left me in a pickle. Not going there or recommending it anymore.

It was my first time visiting this restaurant. My family has been there on many occasions and each time the rave about it. So you can imagine when I got to taste the food it was amazing. Reminded me of the time spent in the Middle East. You can tell how good a place is with the people lining up in and outside the restaurant.

I would say and all my family & friends agree that this is the best Middle Eastren Restaurant in Canada. You get the delicious food you used to have back home and somethings are even much better!
The dough *Manaqeesh* they make are so tastey and better than any dough oven in the region. the grill is fresh and juicy..
basically the best place to bring family and friends for a delicious food and drinks. Certified Halal restaurant with reasonable price.
The Staff is so nice and welcoming, especially the girls *Noor* & *Dalia*.. : always smiling :)))
They are so nice and polite and have strong knowledge of their menu and super fast! and they are welling to explain everything if you happen to be trying anything for first time.. while they explain thing you will automatically feel hungry!!

Food is tasty, structure of restaurant is very classy and traditional style, food serving pot are kind of copper and looks great but only thing I wouldn’t like is it’s expensive food and quantity of food is small amount according to their price.

service is good, food is not. we've ordered 3 different kind of appetizers and mixed grill plate. Tabooleh was OK but not up to Mediterranean standards, potato with pomegranate was far from reality, salty and tasteless, mixed grill wasn't good at all, too much spices.

Very poor . Will never come back again . I ordered fateh and steak . The place was not crowded to justify the slow service . First the fateh came cold I asked the waiter he took it back and replaced it with another one . The second one has arrived with the steak . Also the second fateh was nearly cold so I was forced to finish it since I run out of time. When I started the steak I found it cold and tasteless so I did not finish my meal and asked for the bill . I will never repeat it again

I ordered their chicken shawarma plate and spent a good amount of time looking for the chicken through the layers of fat which was served in the name of chicken. I realized soon after that I was going to pay for their investment in the decor and ambience and not the food. I some how managed to fill my stomach with the bread and garlic sauce/fries. I was there with 3 other friends and each one of them was wondering why we picked this place to eat. The serving size was ridiculous. I wasted my $20 that day. To top it off, we sat near the door which was held open to make sure we were as cold as the food. When I requested the waitress to have it shut.. I got the stupidest response in the world "I can't tell them to not come in" while using her eyes would have showed her that people were lining up all the way out with the door held open.
Ridiculous serving size.. shitty food and over priced as hellthat was my first and last visit to roman zaman.response / report this review -
