Just back from dinner. Great food - we had the specials for the day (lamb and salmon) which were recommended. The bread, oh the bread - warmed to a heavenly perfection. Excellent service and just the right mood in the dining area.

First time to Allegro. We celebrated the New Year in Ottawa and loved the atmosphere, the food was delicious and the service Impeccable! We definitely will be back on our next trip!

In January a group of 34 people went to Allegro to celebrate a special occasion. We were very pleased with venue, however, for the cost of this event I felt we certainly did not get our money's worth of food. In my opinion (and others as well) there most definitely was not value for the money that Allegro charged per person. We brought in a lot of revenue to this establishment and many of us did not get our money's worth. Four platters of food for 34 people with no replenishment was very disappointing. There was no way that there was $850 worth of food laid out. I know of 6 people who did not eat one bite for various reasons so in actuality those 4 platters were shared amongst 28 people even though 34 paid for food.
Bar service was also inadequate with the bartender having to run down to the first floor. At the end of the event I watched the bar servers eat off the remaining bit of food that we had paid for. Very unprofessional and very disappointing.response / report this review -

I'm from Cleveland and every time I come to Canada 🇨🇦 I always am amazed by the food and how different it is compared to the states. Allegro has a good homey vibe and serve the next best thing to the the real deal.

Perfect ambiance. The best Osso bucco I've ever had. The calamari and fried zuchini were delicious and for the dessert you must try the Tiramisu. I highly recommend this place.
