Came for drinks. Got a Manhattan and an old fashioned. They were both made well and the servers had a good knowledge of alcohol. Will definitely come back. The restaurant itself is a nice cozy place. Can be a nice place to bring a date.

Went there to celebrate my birthday as our hotel recommended it. This was my first visit to Vancouver. I found the inside beautiful and the live band playing enjoyable. So 4 stars on ambiance. Found the food to be decent for the price you pay, comparable to what I have had elsewhere (bone marrow and duck terrine).

However, the service is where my 2 star comes from. I asked my server for recommendations twice and here are his responses. For drinks I said I wanted a "yummy cocktail" and he said "don't we all" and didn't recommend anything. Then, I asked for food recommendations and he said "I don't like to give recommendations because everyone has different tastes" and didn't mention anything on the menu at all. And that was that. I have never had an experience like this before in any dining environment. He never checked in on how things were, the bartender did twice (he was friendly). I don't understand this. We ultimately decided to leave after our one drink and two apps bc it seemed like we were all inconvenience to our server and not welcome. So we headed elsewhere in gastown and received phenomenal service which made my birthday feel special. I will be leaving a very positive review for them.

Excellent drinks. Went for a couple of drinks with a friend. Place is on the darker side but just the right amount of light. Food is good but many are very rich. Had the roasted bone marrow and the scotch egg.

This is where we go to drink when us lower-middle class types want a cocktail. I drag my grubby tech buds in there and we have fun working with the bartender to crank out interesting drinks. Good rotating menu. It's definitely a place to splurge though, nothing is cheap.

As a tip if you're feeling adventurous: Ask the bartender to make you a drink with some condition like "Make me a drink you saw recently that you really want someone to order" or "make me a drink that tastes like regret" and they can _always_ deliver. It's fun.

Okay so maybe I do not understand fun but I find it fun and the bartenders are always game for it.

Their Scotch Egg is much better than others I've had! It's a must try in my opinion if you eat here. It often gets busy, so be prepared to wait. The vibe is nice and the service is quite good, it can get noisy.

The Pourhouse is beautiful on the inside, and the cocktails are outstanding, but where it really shines is the service. We went a few nights ago and I had asked about a specific mixer. The bartender whipped up a specialty drink just for me and it was the best cocktail I'd ever had. My husband asked about a beer, and he expertly described it but sheepishly added, "I'll get you a taste, it will do a much better job of explaining than I did." When we paid our bill, he noticed from our card that we were from the states (someone else had checked our ID) and he proceeded to give us recommendations all over the city for the rest of our stay. It was the best service and we will be recommending our friends to visit the Pourhouse.

The atmosphere here is great, the drinks are made with care and a little flat but not so much you feel like the experience is more important than the alcohol. And the burger is _amazing_! Even the pickle and salad (instead of fries) were spectacular!

One of the best services I have received from a Bar. Great place. Great service. Great food and outstanding drinks.
The bartending is the a work of Art. Kareem was just dope and outstanding. This place is a great blend of old school and modern bar. 👌🏽

Excellent service and drinks. Don't be shy to ask for any drink that is not on menu! Our waitress prepared one special for us, based in our taste. ;)

The food & drinks were so good! Our server was knowledgeable and prompt despite it being a busy Sunday night. Nice ambiance, quality food + drinks. It is a great place for a longer dinner or drinks with a date or friend.

Great burgers, fries taste homemade and pork belly is a perfect combination. Prices are a bit steep but very worth due to a high quality food and service.

Food was good, but the music was really loud and the drinks were expensive. I had trouble having a conversation across the table with my date.

I have never written either a negative or a positive review for a restaurant before this, but this place definitely deserves a failed review when it comes to service! I was there to celebrate a friend's birthday a few months back, so our table was in a festive mood. Unfortunately, the beginning of our night was ruined do to the waiter that was serving our table. I think this waiter thought that he was God's gift to us and hence he was acting as such. After about fifteen minutes of he's nonsense I got up and took him aside and explained to him that he's behavior was completely unacceptable and that I wanted to speak to he's manager. I then proceeded to explained the situation to he's manager. He's manager listen to my grievance but failed to rectify the situation. So, we asked for the bill, and just went down the street to a neighboring restaurant where we were given excellent service. Sorry, but as paying consumers we should demand and expect better service for our hard earned money, especially, from establishment such as this!
