It is where all our friends hang out. We always have a great time. The owner, Al is a friend and our neighbor. He rocks!!.

Great food as always, here at least once every 1-2 weeks, never a staff issue. Very accommodating to patrons.

Fine place long hours for food in a very small town. Longish walk from the marina but often about your only choice for food outside 9 to 5. Always been easy to get in, over the decade I've come here on boat trips. Pop is always weak. Big variety menu. Enough room to maneuver in wheelchair and tables to pull up to was s plus this time.

Good food, cozy bar atmosphere and decent prices. Good for a quick bar meal or night out with friends

    Big Al tries.

He always makes the effort to personally ensure clients are looked after and that their food and drinks are acceptable. He's also recently made an effort to introduce a better beer selection and some innovative food options-- presumably to attract the more sophisticated Lakeshore crowd so desperate for a night out in BR (without having to drive all the way to Tecumseh or Erie St.) that they decide to show up at Mr. Bigg's.

The bar is old and dingy though, and the clientele mainly consists of people who have likely been coming for years (daily?) and seem to APPRECIATE sub-par beer and basic food options, so he's walking a fine line.

The place is clean, with well-lit eighties-style booths and tables on one side for families, and a small-town darker bar area with 2 pool tables that cost a toonie-- double the price of nearby Cooper Court, and in worse shape, however!

The atmosphere is friendly with old rock & roll pumping through the speakers, the service is well-meaning, young and local-- Big Al, a Belle River politician, is also well-known as a community-minded hirer and has the reputation as being a great first boss to many of BR's local youngsters.

The food is fresh and usually surprisingly good.

Belle River could do worse for a local watering hole, and Big Al's is DEFINITELY a good place to come after a night of co-ed softball or just hanging out at the beach, but it's just not the type of place to go if you're looking for upscale fare.

I'd probably give it 3.5 stars if I could, but I can't justify rounding it up to a 4...

A hole.Place use to be good back 12 years ago. Food is now sub-standard. From a family place with good food to a dirty run down rummy. A shame ....

Good food and large servings, always busy and sometimes not enough staff
