  Ben's 75th Birthday Celebration at Max's Restaurant in Scarborough was the best choice ever! The service by Marilyn and Krissel was perfect. All guests' requests were attended to by Marilyn and Krissel. The set-up was exactly right and the decoration by Marilyn was gorgeous! Thank you also to Diana for making sure the paperwork was in order. High fives to the chef for the very tasty and very authentic Filipino dishes! Guests were very impressed with the food and service and celebrant Ben J. was very happy that they were and was likewise impressed. Thank you so much to Marilyn, Krissel, Diana, the chef and kitchen and other staff at Max's Restaurant in Scarborough!!!

  ….never regret that we had our daughter’s first communion celebration at Max’s Scarborough! Though there were several not-so-good reviews in this branch, we still decided to pick this place due to its stylish décor, spacious parking space, simplified party package, and of course it’s Filipino feel inside the resto.
  
  
  
  Since it is a religious gathering, we decided to look for a place where it could give a typical Filipino Sunday vibe, and this place had fulfilled it. From its good food, to customer service, to friendly-family atmosphere, plus its signature fried chicken, everything is superb!
  
  
  
  Kudos to Ms. Marilyn for being very accommodating. There were never a chance I saw Ms. Marilyn had complaint or had an attitude even on the busiest time on an ordinary day. She always assists anyone/everyone on the best she could.
  
  
  
  I personally recommend this place & we look forward to more family celebrations at Max’s :)

  Food is good but service is poor. Long wait to take the orders and take time to serve the food. Unfriendly and just few server. Maybe you could be generous with your french fries some other time. 5pcs of french fries in a whole chicken?

  Wonderful hospitality, service and food. Portions are generous as well. Picked up Crispy Pata and Lumpia Ubod for 3 families to take to Belleville. While waiting for the take out, I ordered the crispy chicken with pancit. It was pretty good. The pancit didn't wow me though. We all thoroughly enjoyed the lumpia ubod and the Pata. We loved it actually! I went back to try the Lechon Kawali and have more lumpia ubod. Delicious again! The skin was crispy and the meat was flavourful and moist. Might have been a bit under seasoned but it was still tasty. The plain steamed rice was perfect too, which is important. Marilyn is a real gem at this location on Markham Road and they are Blessed to have someone like her as a guest's first impression. She is welcoming, courteous, has attention to detail with the orders and makes sure that each guest is taken care of. As for the beverage, I had the Gulaman sago both times and the second time was better, more flavourful and more gelatin. Max's in Markham is definitely a favourite of mine and my friends and family already. I'm considering ordering platters of Ubod, Crispy Pata and Lechon Kawali for the Filipino Christmas party in Belleville next month! So glad that I found Max's!

  nostalgia bring us here. food was pricey but it is more fun to enjoy pinoy food in our adopted homeland.
  
  server named bakva ( did i get it right) raised the bar for good customer care.

  I went in for a late dinner with my family. I ordered the kids meal, sinigang na baboy, and a garlic rice. They had no milk for my son. So I was a bit disappointed. Also no liquor license.
  
  Service was good although it's take out style fast food with delivery to the table.
  
  Sinigang was too salty leads me to believe they used a powdered soup stock.
  
  Kids meal was a good portion. Kids meal came with 1 piece of chicken drum stick side of pancit bihon and 2 small lumpia rolls with dipping sauce.
  
  My son wasn't able to finish his meal so I got to try his food. Chicken was good but over rated. Lumpia was excellent. Pancit was good.
  
  
  
  All in all good flavors..price was a bit high for fast food.. it will do well as a chain restaurant.

  Well, my friends and I went to Max's At Markham/Scarborough location. Service was good, the thing that make us disappointed was the food, kare kare's sauce was so thick, palabok was overcooked and toppings was not even enough to make it taste good or better, and lastly we ordered half chicken and its not even half coz wings is not even there.

  The beautiful manager, Marilyn was very welcoming and very nice. The server was nice as well and the foods were served fast than we expected. We enjoyed all the foods we ordered! Till next time ���

  Our server was great but wait in between was awful. There were only 2 servers in the whole restaurant! Halo halo was dry and had to ask for evaporated milk to make it edible. Kinda pricey but I guess expected. Would I come back again? Maybe, maybe not.

  The price is not very competitive, on the high end. Quality of the food taste, colour, appearance was not consistent for every visit and take-out. 5th visit and still?

  Not worth every cents paid. Price is too high while food servings are too small. Service is not great either. Not also convenient if you have kids/babies with you.

  The food is too dry, halo halo is just full of ice and you need to ask for more milk and sugar.. the chopsuey doesn't really taste like chopsuey. Food wise is not worth of your money.

  Crispy Pata! They make it really good! And also they make the best lumpiang shanghai! And of course the max's chicken na Sarap to the bones!

  Chicken tastes very similar to the ones in PI. But most importantly the crew (server/cashier) in Markham location are much more friendly and accommodating than the York region location (don't mean to compare) but they really deserve the credit. They deserve better tips!!! So sad was not able to get their names, they compensated my disappointment from the Canton which was overcooked.

  Authentic Filipino foodbut at a fairly high price. Its great food, don't get me wrong. I just would have preferred smaller portions at a lower price point.

  15% tip is automatically added to our bill. I am so upset and angry. This will be our last visit to this restaurant. Too greedy.
