Pre-natal care was fantastic. The wait times at appointments during pre-natal checkups were minimal, but I think that that is limited to our specific doc (Dr. B) because I think that he's grandfathered his own nurse and secretary and they are very efficient and experienced and they keep his clinic running like clockwork. I would give them 5 stars for sure. Delivery and post partum on the other hand are definitely not 5 star. Delivery is hit and miss (we had 2 OBs each delivery) and a PGY2 delivered each of our two babies, and frankly we really liked both of them. The staff OB who technically is the doc on record for my second kid's birth was very dismissive I the setting of some fetal distress. Ruined the whole experience. Postpartum is mostly horrible with some scattered nursing bright spots peppered throughout a mostly unpleasant experience.

The level of professionalism and patient care is simply amazing. They have various types of specialist in the hospital to help sort through complex cases. My wife and I are really impressed with this hospital.

By far the worst emerg experience I've ever had. Nurses here are very condescending and rude to patients, and after waiting four hours to see a doctor, he performed a brief 5 minute basic physical check on me and said I seem fine and I'm too low risk for the issues I was describing which have been worsening for a month. So essentially he's comfortable that I'm experiencing daily worsening symptoms of more serious issues because I'm too young to be at risk for them - this is not reassuring or professional grade health care at all - people come here for objective answers, not a guessing game. He said he "doesnt know" what was causing all my symptoms then and recommended I just keep taking Tylenol for another week. No tests or anything done, just used blood work they had on my file from a MONTH earlier (for a different issue) rather than taking new blood. Doctor also acted like I was wasting his time. No discharge paper, just said "you can go". Don't come here for anything unless it's your last choice.

I went here due to premature delivery by an ambulance. My baby was half way out when I got to the hospital, everyone from paramedics to nurses to OBs were very professional and quickly got the baby out within minutes. Then I got transfer to 15 floor. The nurses were taking care of me were extremely kind (Thank you Kim especially). It made the whole experience so much easier to bear.

Had to bring myself there for ER due to an extremely large abscess. Not a long wait (I got to the waiting room around 4:45am though). In to see someone by 6:15am.
Doctor and his assistant were thorough and great. Talked me through what turned out to be a painful procedure; took their time and were very encouraging.
But the nurse left a LOT to be desired; she kept trying to rush me out (but I was clearly sore after what they had done). She gave me a pill and told me to get the prescription filled didn't tell me where the closest pharmacy was/didn't seem interested in answering my questions about care or what I could/could not do in regards to the dressing.
I mentioned the doctor had said someone was to contact me about having my dressings redone at home by a nurse in a few days . and she gave me this weird look and said "no that's not right" and I told her he had /just/ told me that. She seemed so inconvenienced that she had to go verify.
I was right, of course.
But seriously?? I had /never/ been to the ER or this hospital before and I was alone: have a little bit of compassion and tact next time. Don't try to push me out without complete information when I'm shaken and sore and clearly confused/uncertain.response / report this review -

I have been twice at this hospital this Summer and was impressed by the personnel. Everyone was very kind, including the doctors. The only downside was the waiting time to get an iv due to dehydration. Spent 6.5 h there. I wish there would be a fast line for pregnant women

Taking into account the pain and admittedly "fear of the unknown" that accompanied me in to Mount Sinai Emergency I could honestly not have imagined or hoped for a better experience. The staff was fantastic throughout - registration, nurses, doctors, technicians - all extremely calm, courteous, kind, personable and knowledgeable. I can't stress that enough, serious props! The facilities were clean, tidy and somehow not depressing as hospitals can be. Having to go to emergency is obviously no fun but Mount Sinai certainly made it the best possible experience. Very impressed and very thankful.

They use the patients to train students so they can get funding. It's ridiculous how many trainees you will be expected to deal with if you go to this hospital. I am worried about how I will be treated if I have another baby, after this experience! I have bad memories of it! I had my baby at Mt. Sinai and it was a very unpleasant experience. There was no communication between employees. I had to answer the same questions over and over again. I also had multiple doctors with trainees, all asking my permission for the trainees to feel how dilated I was. It was very invasive, I was put on the spot and felt like I was expected to go along with everything even though I didn't want too. There were also bed bugs in the chair my husband was sleeping in. We will never go back there and hope they make some changes for the comfort of future patients.

I suddenly broke out into painful, itchy hives (not allergy related). After being mistreated at a dermatology clinic (avantderm), I had no choice but to rush to ER after my symptoms worsened.
Though I had to wait forever, I cannot begin to convey my gratitude to the doctor who saw me. She was attentive and though busy, she spent time with me. She allowed me to explain my symptoms and was very thorough in explaining her diagnosis.
She prescribed me steroids. Almost a month of suffering ended after just the first day/dose of steroids. Thank you so much for ending my pain and misery.

When I go through Emergency, I expect to be seen by a doctor not a student. I was in emergency recently and they did a CT Scan and that was it. Student tells me if I need a chest x-ray to go back to my doctor. I was there for 3 hrs and they did not take blood tests at all. I used to like this hospital but no more. Place is being run by students with little knowledge of medicine.

As a teaching hospital with a mandate to be "patient focused" they achieve this goal on a regular basis. They have succeeded in ensuring that all staff members from porters to specialists, listen to the patient while charting their course back to health. Very clean environment at all times. The new food court offers something for everyone and the art gallery is an excellent place for patients and family members looking for a bit of quiet. The emergency room could be a little crowded at times but they ER staff tries it's best to move things along. For expectant mothers, I highly suggest you check them out.
