If you care about quality, McLaren's is the ONLY place in Nanaimo to shop for all your lighting needs. Great selection, but more importantly, they have access to all the product available in major centres. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly, making the task less onerous. They also have great sales where you can buy fantastic fixtures for a song..

I've had nothing but a positive experience with this store so far. I talked to Candace. I actually only went for replacement glass shades that I had trouble finding anywhere else. I was at the point of buying a whole new fixture but Candace was wonderful and helped me find replacement glass shades that work. I've been back twice since and that young lady doesn't forget a face. I haven't experienced the same kind of excellent customer service she offers in such a long time.

Will never shop here again. Not only is this place so jam packed with junk their prices seem very high. I know quality when I see it. Half the stuff they show is way over priced for what it is. Even when I found something I liked after wondering confused and bewildered for half an hour I had to wait for a sales person to help me. My purchase wasn't anything huge which is why the sales guy that helped probably seemed so disinterested. I get the feeling that most of the staff is unhappy as none of them even cracked a smile this and I over heard them arguing in the backI'm not impressed at all with this place. Hard to see anything and piles of boxes everywhere. I would say also with the background I have with electrical I can say the place is a hazard. For what I could see none of their
lights were grounded properly which means not only is a hazard for fire it is a hazard for electrocution! Evident when the sales guy opened the wall to take a light off and I could see the wire connectors falling off. For the same quality as most of their lights I could shop at Home Depot. I would probably get better service and wouldn't have to worry about killing myself when touching a light fixture Won't ever come back here!!
