I been having mid and lower back pain for the past couple of months. The back pain was really strange because it only occurs after I wake up from sleep and not during my daily activities. I went to many physiotherapist sessions and my body felt relaxed/balanced right after those sessions however, the back pain never went away. From my X-Rays the physiotherapist told me that my spine is tilted a bit to the right side of my body, but the degree of the tilt is very minor so it does not require surgery. I stopped going to physiotherapy after 7 sessions because it was expensive ($125 per session/40 minutes) and it was not working (laying in my bed for 15-20 minutes with lower back pain after waking up). After my first visit with Mark, I can say that the massage was pretty comfortable and my body felt better till the next morning. I can now wake up back pain free only after 5 sessions with Mark. I am so glad that I found Mark. He was very helpful. When my mid to lower back pain did reoccur in between those 5 sessions, he would sent videos of many yoga stretches for me to do. Surprisingly, the stretches he showed me helped as well and I do it on a day to day basis. Anyone who's looking for a way to get rid of back pain, I would recommend you try his service.

Pain is something I've had to battle since 2012. Between the recurring injuries and relapses from other rehabilitation plans, I had to bury my love for sports like volleyball and softball because it was too painful to not be able to play. I've been receiving consultation and treatment from Mark for a few years now. It wasn't until he made me carve out time for consistent treatment that I finally am seeing and feeling results. Mark never gave up on me. He constantly did research to help combat my plethora of injuries that developed over the past five years. From patella femoral syndrome, rotator cuff injury, bulging discs in my lumbar spine and sciatica, Mark made it a priority to create an individualized plan for me, and always checked up and reminded me to book an appointment for treatment. His motto is, "all you need is five minutes a day, daily small efforts go a long way." It was difficult for me to adhere to old programs from other practitioners, but I bought into Mark's five minutes a day philosophy and I am proud to say that this is the first year I've had little to no pain! Being able to play volleyball with my friends is something I that I never thought was possible; let alone having no pain! I still and will always see Mark for treatment because he listens to your needs, he approaches the injury from various perspectives, he also encourages you and motivates you to stick to your goal. My goal was to be pain free and seeing him consistently since January 2017 has been the best decision of my life. Thank you Mark Yin!

I started going to Mark as I felt stuck in a rut despite several years daily yoga. His profile got my attention because he was clearly into inversions. However, I also hoped his knowledge of the body through his education and high level RMT skill, would give him an advantage in understanding how to allow my body to perform postures better or, on the other hand, how to use the postures to make my body perform better. My only concern was that he might be too anatomy based in his instructions. Fortunately, it was quite the opposite. He simply uses his anatomical knowledge to understand why some postures are harder for some people, and how to make progressing into the posture easier, making him a compassionate and intuitive teacher. When I see his own practice, I recognize the quality of breath power allowing him to float into advanced asanas with ease and stability. I believe that focus of channeling the breath and using as little tension as possible are the hallmarks of his teaching style. I have zero regret from studying with Mark, wish I had started with him much earlier, and recommend without hesitation.

Mark is an extremely well-rounded, deeply knowledgable, and accommodating yoga instructor. I participated in his North York yoga sessions and was impressed with how effortlessly he taught and guided a class of very mixed experience. Furthermore, you only need to speak to him briefly and/or see him in action to be left with no doubt about his thorough commitment to yoga, and body and mind health. I would imagine there are few instructors who have Mark's uniquely well-rounded education and background. I highly recommend him.

I've attended several of Marks yoga classes. He is a dynamic instructor, that was able to attend to the needs of all of his students with personalized tips and pointers. For me, this was opening up my shoulders and my back to help with my posture. This is something which I have not witnessed with any other (big-name) studio. As a new yoga coach on the Toronto scene he has a vested interest in all of his students and it certainly shows! Although his practice is new, I was told he was taught by a well renowned yogi in India and has spent many years cultivating his practice.

For my overall experience I would give him 5 stars. I hope his classes remain this way and don't fall into the "mainstream-regime" trap.

From sitting in the office 9-5 everyday, I started feeling tightness in my back. I approached Mark for tips and advice right away. Not only did he point out the importance of daily stretches, he taught me very personalized exercises aimed to improve my posture and flexibility. My back pains slowly started to go away and I'm very happy Mark showed me the stretches that I now incorporate in my daily routine. Thank you, Mark!

I had the opportunity to attend Mark’s classes on several occasions, including yoga and a hand stand workshop. I thoroughly enjoyed participating in these sessions. Mark is very knowledgeable in his practice and an excellent teacher. His instructions were clear and easy to follow. He provided a variety of modifications to challenge participants at different levels and learning styles. Mark took time to provide specific and individualized feedback that was really valuable in improving my own practice. He was receptive to answering questions I had and provided me with information that really helped. I will continue to attend his classes and would highly recommend them!

As an educator I recognize excellent teaching when I see it and I see it consistently in Mark. Mark is able to demonstrate each pose with precision while remaining attentive to the individual needs of his students. Each session has a clear focus and is delivered at an appropriate pace. Attending Mark's sessions on Sundays has put me in the right mindset to tackle the stresses of the work week and I am confident that anyone who chooses to start attending Mark's classes will reap the same benefit. Thank you Mark for enhancing my quality of life!

Last year, the side of my neck was strained and stuck in an awkward position for a day. It was painful and Mark previously dropped by my office to offer free 10 minute massages. Since I had a coupon, I decided to visit him. He saved my neck and gave an amazing massage! I went again this past year for another massage. I highly recommend Mark because he really knows how to work out those knots and save your body if you have any issues!

I've had the pleasure of taking part in multiple yoga sessions with Mark. I've also attended his handstand workshop as well. During all the classes, I was very impressed. He has a lot of theoretical knowledge and can also back it up through practical demonstrations. I've seen him accommodate various experience levels and suggest many modifications to poses that are sometimes too difficult for some. Highly recommended! Namaste.

My husband and I attended a yoga session with Mark and thought it was fantastic. Mark has in-depth knowledge about the body and proper positioning when doing yoga poses, which is crucial for preventing injury and optimizing muscle strengthening. He goes at a good pace and has modifications for poses for people who want more or less of a challenge. He also incorporates a good balance of stretching and strengthening. We have referred many people to his class and will definitely be going again.

Mark led a few fantastic yoga sessions for my school, Blyth Academy Downsview Park School for Elite Athletes. He was very accommodating to the various levels of my students and really engaged them all in such a great mindfulness activity. I highly recommend Mark for any type of yoga session, both basic and advanced.

Mark led classes for my school Emily Carr SS.

Mark provided precise cues for students and was patient as he guided them through poses. He also challenged students' limits in terms of their physical and mental abilities.

I highly recommend giving yourself an opportunity to experience yoga with Mark.
