Great food (fresh and quickly replenished). Very attentive service from all staff. Yet still a odd, damp and stagnant smell emanates from many of the dining rooms. I may also suggest doing some more dusting of the ledges of window-sills and furniture as there is definitely a good layer of dust on many of the edges.

Still, great place for food! I’d especially recommend the take-out!

Went there for my fiancé bday. Good food, good service very nice location. However I don’t think it’s fair that the Birthday reward requires 3 or more people to go with the birthday person for their dinner to be free. We just moved here from Far away and we don’t have friends and family that we could bring with us.

I am impressed with the staff. They really make you feel welcome to be in their Restaurant. Michael He, Manager was a true gentleman. The food was very delicious and I would come back for a another go at the buffet. Thanks

Love this place. More for the service than for the food, but a buffet is a buffet in my opinion ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Best service out of all the Mandarins I’ve been to. Food is always fresh, cooked to perfection. It’s replenished very quickly and efficiently in the buffet area, and the servers will leave your drinks, lemon-water included, at your table always bottomless (free refills on soft drinks). I got greeted and welcomed multiple times with a smile by at least 3 employees when I first visited; since then I have been very impressed. Great place to celebrate birthdays or to go out in big groups. Will definitely be back!

I came here for dinner with my boyfriend on Friday night. The food was decent and service was great and the manager Michael made his rounds to check and see if everything was okay. It's what happens after that makes this a one star review.

When it was time to pay the bill, the server brought over the payment terminal and we paid with our debit card however the machine stated that it didn't go through so she took it away and returned with another and an incomplete receipt. We paid on the new terminal and left the restaurant.

The next day when looking at our online banking we noticed that we had been double charged. We called the restaurant and spoke with Michael, the same manager who had checked in on us the night before and he assured us he would check into it. When he called back about 10 minutes later he told us the double debit charge did not appear on their end and we should wait until a monthly statement comes to see that it will be removed. After this explanation we went to TD and they confirmed that we were double charged and from what they could see in the system it wasn't going to go away.

With that information we printed out a bank statement and made our way over to the restaurant. We spoke with both managers Michael and Jesse who both insisted the charge would go away even after we explained that the bank had told us otherwise. They weren't very apologetic or understanding and it was like talking to a brick wall. It felt like they weren't even listening to what we were saying and simply insisted repeatedly that we wait and check our statement in a month.

Only after we said we would file a fraud claim per the bank's instruction did they decide to call Chase (the payment terminal company) to check with them. Why was this only happening now? Why didn't he exhaust all options of checking into this before sending us away to wait it out? As it turns out they were wrong and we were double charged and it would not be going away as they insisted.

If management had simply called Chase when "investigating" the issue after our initial call the whole awful experience could have been avoided. It's too bad Michael didn't care about our dining experience after we had left the restaurant and only pretended to care while we were there.

We were in downtown Toronto visiting family who were down on business from the north. We excitedly picked them up from their hotels and took them to Mandarin which we were familiar with from past trips into the big smoke(city). We were greeted well by staff and seated for 4 adults and 2 pre-teens at a round table which made the visit excellent to talk to one another. The food smelled excellent and was very tasty. The manager made his rounds and asked if our visit to the restaurant was good and gave us his business card which i felt was more personable as a dining guest. The service was good and timely clean up of our table. We participated in singing happy birthday to a young mother-to-be as she was there only with her spouse and our group at the end of the evening. We hoped it boosted her birthday that other people do care about strangers regardless of who you are or where you go.

The only issue we noticed was the saturated carpet near us where we sat which made noise when you walked on it. We contributed that to a wall of fish tanks and a possible leak which didnt really interfere with our dining experience.

We come to this location quite frequently but yesterday's experience was awful. We have made a reservation and when our party started to arrive we were made to wait while several others were seated. First we were told they didn't have the reservation (it was written on a sticky on their podium which we pointed out) then they said we had to wait as they put tables together and then sat us at a round table that required no set up. Then the wait staff spilled my water all over my food (good thing it was a buffet). I had to go up and get a replacement plate and there was no rice.

usualy mandarin is great but we got food poisoning. i was sick nearly a week had to miss a days of work. I informed them about my issue did not do anything they said we could not find anything wrong. That is b.s. If that was true why did the end result of them saying a manager was gonna call, they dont want to admit to there fault as a company good buisness practices.

We arrived at 8:40pm and was instructed that the restaurant closes at 9:30 but assured that the food is available until closing. That was a lie. At 9:05pm the employees were taking all the food away (food was dry, not fresh). Also the staff was coming to our table every few minutes to tell us they were closing at 930. It was such a negative experience enhanced with crappy minimal food and all for $103 (3 adults). Never again.

Absolutely the worst customer experience I ha had in a decade. We went for my wife's birthday with a large group of friends and I mentioned that it was her birthday as typically we have gone in the past and you get a free meal on your birthday. The waitress said you have to go online and register and they send it. We did and nothing came. I asked and she sent the manager over. Here is where the experience went significantly downhill. The Manager said it takes several days to get the coupon. I told him that we had never needed a coupon in the past and had been there for several birthdays. He then told me that I was mistaken and he had been there for 6 years and I was wrong. I said it had been a year since we came for a birthday however we eat there several times a year. And he told me that clearly I went to another buffet and just turned his back around and walked away. We were all shocked, he clearly could not have cared less. We all thought this was incredibly poor and that he was clearly not management material as his demeanor and customer service was poor at best! I highly doubt any of us will be back as we all live in the area and were slightly soured by this experience. I will personally tell EVERYONE in my social networks to avoid this location. It is just unfortunate that one bad employee can ruin a restaurant for so many people.

Got stuck Ina corner where 3 out of 5 people had to get up every time someone wanted to get more food. Nancy our server ignored us most of the evening even with 2 help her. Her eyes lit up when she saw the $20 tip my f-I-L left and she took the tip before we even stood up from the table!! They're staff has gone downhill lately.

The last time I was here (10ish years ago) was fantastic. Made the mistake of going there on Father's Day, however they way over bookend. I only get to eat crab 2-3times a year, so was pretty disappointed at the inability to keep up with demand, haha didn't get to pig out like I wanted!!! Food was really good though
