I needed a boat alternator for my mercruiser at 2:50 on a Saturday. Called all the big guys in town and no one could help. Stopped in here by chance, got exactly what I needed at a cheaper than internet price. Thanks for the great service!
Very helpful and knowledgable. Immediately identified my diode packs vintage and application. He was able to rebuild them with new diodes. So far so good. I'll do the rest and then bring it in for a load test.
Great service, lots of stock. In and out in 5 mins for a great price. Thanks Mac!
I have dealt with Macs Auto Electric now for over 5 years Great staff, Great Service Great Product :)
Good for cheap parts but that's about all. I had some electrical issues that I was stumped on.
After replacing the battery, I came to Mac's for an alternator. He provided a rebuilt alternator that gradually stopped working. No idea why, so we went onto a second alternator.
After bringing my car to another shop after the second alternator had problems, we realised that I had been given alternators with the wrong pulley so the belt wasn't spinning the alternator properly.
It took two hours to pull the alternator out and clean up the mess the wrong pulley made and get a new belt on there.
I have also had anecdotes from 3 other people I know having problematic alternator's from Macs Auto.
Everytime the owner just tested the alternator and either provided a replacement or shrugged as to what the issue might be.
I can't say I'm terribly disappointed as the price on the alternator was extremely cheap but I guess as the adage goes, you get what you pay for.
Great experience. After packing for the day expecting to sit for hours upon hours in the dealership with young kids I tried Macs Auto to check out my battery and alternator. Problem was discovered in minutes and a new battery in for me. I was in and out in 20 minutes and for the best rate. Both of the guys were kind and helpful! Highly recommend!
Excellent service
had electrical problems and an old battery not charging
Replaced the battery first and I had been shopping around
His battery with more cranking amps than the ones at CT and Lordco installed and with taxes included was still less than both others , 10 less than Lordco's shelf price and 50 less than CT
His explanation was lets not change the alternator yet drive it for a couple weeks and lets see if your battery was the problem because your alternator is showing an output .
2 weeks later I am thinking he is right and I should change alternator ( just added new sub and amp system so better anyway )
with a higher output and installed under $250
this is excellent service and very into making sure his customer is happy
