It was okay. The unit we were in was well laid out (3 bedroom, 2 bathroom unit) but it was in dire need for repairs. Door handles falling off, dirty carpets and flooring. Cleanliness a little to be desired. Location is great and walkable to downtown Canmore. Felt it was a little expensive for what you received.
The Lodges of Canmore is Filthy! I was so disappointed with my November 2017 stay as we have stayed here many times and I will NEVER stay here again. We stayed in the Cougar building and our unit was in a terrible state of disrepair, and very poorly maintained. Our blinds were broken, the floor was dirty, the carpet was ripped in several places across the room, the paint/drywall was damaged, sticky drip marks on the walls, black marks on the white shower curtain, a 24" tv and a "vintage" tv in the master. We resolved to cancel our future bookings based on this stay. On our SECOND NIGHT my husband pulled back the duvet and we found what looked like dried blood. We called room service who said "I'll see what I can do." After 20 minutes I called back. I was told "I can't find anybody and it's not my job, but I can bring you a new duvet." At that point it's 11:30pm and we are facing sleeping again in a dirty bed. This is the worst hotel stay I've ever had, and at $200+ a night I'll never come back. I urge you to consider this review in making your choice of accommodations.
Rented a condo here and had a good experience. The wifi signal was strong and fast. The hallways we're clean. However there were not enough dumpsters around to throw away trash.
A little confusing to find the different buildings but once you learn the way around, it's an amazing place. Great view, and has everything you need. Good location in town and the rooms are nice
Stayed here for two nights. Really unfriendly staff who didn't care about how your stay was. Flat out lied to me that my room was not ready at 330 (30 min before their policy check-in time),and when pushed on it I over heard the cleaner say on the radio that in fact was ready.
The rooms have no evacuation plans on the walls, and one of my nights the fire alarm was pulled by accident (no fault of the hotel there) but the evacuation was a mess with no gathering point or communication. Not a single staff member to be seen!
The rooms are loud, doors are always slamming since there are no damper pistons on them, there is a freight train line quite close, there was hair from other people on the floors, and the accommodations are in disrepair.
There are a few good items however. There is plenty of parking that fits a full size truck, the location is great, views are pretty good, and the room layout for the 1 bedroom suite was perfect.
Enjoyed my stay here, the room was lit. Compared to hotels, it is not much, but the rooms totally make up for that. I had a room where I got to see the mountains, and I could just sit there for hours without getting bored. Coming back here next time I visit Canmore.
No useful air conditioning in the unit we stayed in. An portable air conditioner is provided and set up in the living room. This air conditioner was too loud to use while sitting in the living room; and, did not cool the bedrooms off enough. The building is clearly a wood frame construction as you you can hear every footstep above you; however there are strict noise bylaws in the building and we never had any real noise complaints.
Had its ups and downsclose to amenities but be aware that if the temps outside are hotthere is no air conditioning so trying to sleep can be a challenge.
Alsoif you're a little claustrophobicthe bedroom is extremely small. Spend one night and don't think we could spend must more.
We stayed at one of the condos that's owned and on airBNB. Location was amazing, the grounds and amenities are very nice. Our condo was great but I'm not sure what the hotel owned ones are like. If they're as nice as the rest of the complex I assume they're very nice. Underground parking is a huge plus and the staff are very nice.
We ended up with a full suite. Fridge, stove, dishwasher, best of all a BBQ on the deck so we could prepare our own meals. Great view of the mountains. Hot tubs and pool available.
The big hot tub has been under repair for a month now and is not hot, you can say it's warmish. Very annoying with the other hor tubs since they are always full. The gym sucks and the wifi is always disconnecting. Don't forget the fact that they key cards are always demagnetisizing, and no i did not put it next to my phone. Overall. I paid 6000$ for two monthsNEVER AGAIN. Go somewhere else.
We stayed in a suite for two days. It was clean, well maintained, and quiet. One tvs cable didn't work, and it took three calls to get someone to fix the fireplace when they finally informed us it was a known issue and required a part, really irritated us. Otherwise, decent stay.
Love the room, loads of space and kitchen is well stocked with utensils. Only issue is the hot tub isn't exactly Hot. It's warm at best
Our most common lodging while in Canmore for the weekend. Some rooms can be hit or miss, for instance our most recent room was supposed to be a 'king or 2 singles and a queen'. We requested a king but got 2 singles and there was nothing that could be done. Hot tubs are nice, underground parking is available, and the accomodations are usually fairly cozy.
