Funky in a good way. Food was local and a menu with character. Meatloaf was excellent. Lunch special was a grilled cheese made into a burger, also excellent.
We returned for a light breakfast the next day.
Visited for breakfast and the staff was efficient and friendly. Food was a generous serving of excellent quality at a fair price.
Just had the worst lunch ever at Lefty’s Parksville location. Food quality was tasteless. Caesar salad with what was not fresh wild salmon but frozen and extrenely dry. Other meals left one wondering who’s doing the cooking and presentation? Don’t waste your hard earned money!
Went for dinner. Pizza was great- hot & fresh. Still a lovely evening to sit outside at the big booth, even though a bit cool - bring your sweater and do it! Save room for Nirvana for dessert, it was our favourite!
I don't want to give this place a bad review, as I've only tried their breakfast but quite simply I wasn't impressed.
Pros:
Calm environment and quaint
Friendly staff
Cons:
Breakfast menu had very few selection and even the omelette variety was very disappointing, no skillets or common dishes
Service was slow and we barely saw our waitress, she seemed more interested in talking in the back with other staff members rather than checking on us/removing our dishes
Only thing I saw on the breakfast that seemed appealing was the Hefty Breakfast, which wasn't very hefty at all. My ham slice was the thinnest excuse of ham I've ever experienced, my sausage was way overcooked and the hash browns were much too large and not charred enough. My fiancée had the "Daily Special" which consisted of Eggs Benny that had a terrible sauce and the same issue with the hash browns.
We will likely go back to try their lunch/dinner menu at some point, as it seemed to have much better variety and while I've been recommended to try Lefty's by a few co-workers we may be hard pressed to run at the first opportunity to spend more money here.
We remembered this place from our Island vacation 4 years ago, and weren't disappointed with our return. Excellent food, nice atmosphere and patio. Their pizza was amazing (I had Mediterranean), but a little spicy for my wussy taste buds.
Service was good and the decoration was nice. I like the style.
Wife and I ordered pizzas, which were delicious.
My friend ordered a rare steak for 26 dollars which came out the size of a deck of playing cards and cooked medium-well done. He sent it back and they burned the second one, also. They apologised and refunded him the cost of that meal. Naturally someone should be careful how and where they order a steak. Rule of thumb is order 1 grade rarer than you want if it's not a steakhouse. But 3 grades darker? Someone wasn't flipping enough.
Overall, though, it was a good experience. Since they refunded the bad steak, we had desert and it was very good. I would go to Lefty's again, just not for steak.
My husband and I ate there tonight for the first time and the food was amazing. Ingredients were fresh, in house made and we were quite impressed with the quality and prices. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
We had the red pepper hummus, tomato and bean soup and spinach salad. Menu has a great selection of items and everything was quite tasty. We will definitely be back!!
Amazing. Had the pizza and smoked salmon pasta. Shockingly good. Wonderful staff. Great experience.
Funky place with good selection of breakfast, lunch and supper items. Beef burger was standard nothing fancy but delicious. Some good local Craft beer and service was quite friendly.
Great food and service. Love the outdoor patio. Pizza is all thin crust which normally I don't like, but it was some of the best I've ever had. Quite impressed.
Amazing pizza! So great to find such a huge gluten-free pizza with LOADS of toppings! Server was excellent too. One thing that holds it back from a 5 star review is the cranberry mojito, was not as advertised, but when we questioned it, they immediately apologized and offered to get another type of drink.
Overall, great experience!
The staff were great and accommodating. They were able to quickly seat us (a group of 10+) and allow us a pleasant evening even when we didn't have a reservation. On top of that, the food was not bad! I'd recommend it if you're passing by Parksville
