Great location, nice views, very friendly staff. Service was nice but a little slow on a night that wasn't very busy. Food was good but not great.
We did not have a good experience at this restaurant. We were looking for a place to have dinner in Sidney before catching a ferry back to Vancouver. When we arrived, the first question was about whether we had a reservation or not. That's fair, but the tone of the hostess made us feel unwelcome. We were offered the lounge, which was fine. However, it took a long time for a waitress to come over and get us started. When we did finally get asked about orders, we chose a chicken club and a burger -- not complicated to make. It took a good 30 minutes for such basic dishes to arrive. People around us who were seated after we arrived got their meals before we did. Why?! We noticed! After such a long wait, there was no acknowledgment of the wait or any apology. This restaurant was oblivious to our needs, and we cannot recommend it.
The service was amazing! The portions are big. The food isn't too bad, a bit on the dry and salty but it suits the crowd in the area. We had the Prime rib special which is held on Sunday nights. We quite enjoyed it. We got the last few slices of it so it was closer to medium but we wanted medium rare. The texture was still good.
This was an amazing experience for great service, good food and great quality. Greg was our server and he exemplified "excellence" when it came to our needs or wishes. The quantity of food make this excellent value for the money and everything was as you would expect from a great restaurant.
Went to Haro's with my wife for a dinner date. The food, service, and drinks were all good quality. The patio is in the shade from the afternoon on, which was a downside, but they had ample heaters to compensate. The appetizer portions were slightly small, and the cocktails were a bit pricey; however, they had reasonably priced highball specials from 4-6 pm for happy hour. My main was a mussel dish which I was fearing might be lacking due to the appetizer, but this was not the case at all. I was delivered a mountain of mussels and I would highly recommend the white wine sauce option. Overall, a good experience in a wonderful setting, would go again.
If I could give it a 0 I would. I work in Sidney and would go to Haros around every 2 weeks with clients or my office for lunch or late dinner after work. I usually order one thing. that is the muscles dish but I ask for pasta under the dish instead of fries ( I am pretty sure I am one of very few if not only people who do this). It was my favorite dish until about a month ago when I went with my boyfriend after work as a treat, I got extremely sick after. I have had food poisoning various times and this was a little different but very similar, a couple hours after getting home, I felt very sick and sharp pains in my stomach, ended up THROWING everything up and getting shivers all through out the night. I slept in until around noon and headed straight to the restaurant to speak to a manager!!! I told her what happened and that maybe the batch of muscles should be thrown out. She tried to tell me I didnt have any food poisoning, and that they wont be doing that because she believed the shellfish was always fresh. She took my phone number and said she would give me a call back. Low and behold, she never did, terrible customer service, and shes the manager too! Very slimy. I went to the doctors afterwards and was told I had shell fish poisoning because of how fast my body reacted, if my body hadn't thrown up all the shellfish as soon as it did I could have been much worst. Manager should be fired for the safety of people, I do not believe she has the clients best safety in mind. Best part? There's been a shellfish warning about paralytic shellfish poisoning. Just my luck. I no longer bring my office or clients here, and I will never recommend this restaurant now to anyone. There are better options for food with better prices and customer service in Sidney.
Just an amazing restaurant. Great food. Great atmosphere. Great staff. Great scenery.
Been a few times and the food is consistently great. A very nice few of the water as well.
A favorite place to eat in Sidney. Excellent food, great ambience and friendly staff. A good selection of local beer too.
Dec 28th 2016 Worst meal ever:( Waited 40 mins. for food & then told kitchen was under-staffed. My order, ravioli that looked & tasted like a dog's dinner, was crusty from sitting under heat lamps. I & one of my companions became ill later in the day. When I returned the food I was offered a 20 percent discount. Wow!! I will say the young lady who served us was great & very apologetic. Will never eat there again.
