Excellent menu with a nice focus on locally sourced ingredients. Live music on the weekends. Great for date night!

Try the Stilton cheesecake! It's amazing!

Good food, good beer selection, friendly staff, live music. Not pretentious. Love that this is my local spot.

A vibrant restaurant with super happy faces of diners and staff! The live music meant I stayed and had dessert followed by gin followed by another! Our children 10 and 12 (notoriously difficult ages when dining out!!) loved the energy in the Heron Rock and commented on how fab the music was. We are coming back to Victoria next weekend, hopefully we will book a table! Please visit this eatery, they deserve all stars x

What a great place for dinner! There I was over the border from the US, and I felt like I was from the neighborhood. Friendly, helpful staff. The first time there I got salmon on a salad, a glass of house wine, and bread pudding. What a great dinner. The salmon was perfect, the salad delicious, and the price far less than I expected, $27. The second time it was Happy Hour, I got a pulled pork sandwich and side salad for $12. Absolutely the best pork sandwich I've ever had. I don't know where they get their buns. Fabulous.

July 21 2017Very basic decor..nothing fancy but comfy and adequate. Initial greeting at the door was essentially pleasant Service prompt and also very pleasant. Simple but decent menu options. The falling down point was the food itselfthe over usage of salt ! There were 3 of us..3 different meals..burger.fish poboy spaghettiI tasted all 3 dishes.in each case I immediately tasted way too much use of salt overpowering the flavors of each dish. Will try the restaurant again for a second assessment.

Great place for breakfast or dinner. I'd recommend against ordering their grilled salmon and orzo dish as it is pretty small, but their Lamb burger is the best burger I have personally ever had in my life. Their gnocchi is great, especially with the added grilled chicken, their duck poutine is fantastic so are their salmon eggs benedict. They serve endless housemade bread rolls after 4 and they have live music on the weekends. Their desserts tend to be more savoury than sweet, which is nice. They also make their own ice cream. It's a little local gem to be sure.

The Heron Rock Bistro I was there on the very first day. Honestly, I felt bitter. I liked the old restaurant. But the staff are expeditious and their wine pairing was exceptional. We enjoyed going to the Heron Rock before grocery shopping. Haven't been in over 6 years 😭 (moved to Vancouver).

After hearing wonderful reviews, our first trip to Heron Rock was very disappointing. We're not normally too picky about service, but our waitress was very rude. We had to ask for menus after waiting awhile, then had to ask another server to take our payment after being ignored again. When our server interacted with us she had a very negative attitude towards us. Very sad to have such a poor experience. The food and drinks were good, and the other staff seemed pleasant, but we have never felt so uncomfortable and unwelcome because of a server.

Great weekend brunch! I had the chef's choice trio of bennies and they were all delicious. High quality ingredients carefully prepared and balanced flavors. It was the best meal I had in Victoria.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a delightful young woman who gave us a few recommendations for our stay. Despite being more of a neighborhood place she didn't make us feel bad for being Yankees. We should have had breakfast there again on Sunday!
