What a disaster, this B&B.
On May 30, I made a reservation for one night for June 1. I received confirmation by email that we had been assigned the Willow Whisper Room which has a private bathroom. However, when we arrived, we were not in the reservation book. There was some scrambling and confusion, but we were told that the room was still available. The owner took us upstairs to the Willow room. Other guests' personal items were already in the room (the guests were out). The owner said he would take their stuff out of the room so we could put ours. We, of course, refused and explained that we were not comfortable with them moving other people’s luggage without their consent and knowledge (if it were us, we would be upset) and that from a hygiene perspective, we couldn’t even know how extensively the room had been used. They certainly didn’t offer to clean it first – it was almost 9:30 p.m. by this time.
We were then told that the only other room did not have a private bath. We would never have booked a room with a shared bathroom. After much confusion and discussion, we decided to take the room given the time. We felt stuck. The owner told us he would give us a new room the next day. Our reservation was only for one night.
The shared bathroom did not even have clean towels (or any towels for that matter), except for one hand towel and one washcloth.
In the morning, they told us that they only accept cash and don’t have the capacity to accept credit cards. I asked if I could send an email transfer for the amount and they said yes, that this was not a problem. After I sent the payment, they asked me to send it to a different email address, because, according to them, there is no account tied to the email address I sent the payment too. I explained how email transfers work and they could just choose which account to deposit the money in when they accepted the payment. The look of panic and confusion was so frustrating. As we were packing the car, about to leave, the owner comes running out all in a panic again about the email transfer. I had to convince him to try accepting the payment and if for any reason, it didn’t work, I would make sure he got his money. Why even accept email transfers if you can’t figure out the basics of it? Of course, within minutes of us leaving, I got confirmation that the payment was accepted.
These people should not be running a bed and breakfast, or any business for that matter. What confusion. We were shocked that they would have let us take a room that was already occupied by someone else, and made us question the hygiene standards of the place. They can’t accept any payment other than cash. They are not set up for guests. They are in a constant state of panic. Our experience was generally unpleasant and given the number of B&Bs in the area, I strongly recommend readers find a different one.response / report this review -

Very nice room in a beautiful house. Breakfast was excellent and most importantly, the owners were very gracious and friendly!

Perfectly situated in the “Forest City,” this B&B is just steps from Western University, and St. Joseph’s Hospital. Also nearby is Richmond Row where you can experience fine dining, upscale shopping, exciting night life, and Victoria Park which is a hot spot for London’s events and festivals. One block away, enjoy a stroll through picturesque Gibbons Park. There you will also find a splash pad and community pool.
