The food was delicious and generous portions. Ambiance was inviting and beautiful. Service was exceptional. Restaurant building was a beautiful brick restaurant, decorated and accented beautifully. Definitely highly recommended. You will not be disappointed. Wonderful evening.

I like this restaurant quite a bit, when everything is going well for them. It seems to me that I get consistently amazing service during the late fall through early spring months, and that I get worn out and unhappy servers and bussers during the summer months. Understandable since they're fully booked every night during the summer which would wear anybody out. During the wintertime there's a little more breathing room for everyone and the service is amongst the best in the city. The food is always delicious, flavourful, and well presented. The setting is a beautiful old brick building that's been masterfully renovated and made into a unique restaurant with a wonderfully warm ambiance.
Which brings me to my 4 star review.. We had a causal night out here the other night. Our server was polite, but definitely worn out to the point where he seemed to be putting on a face for us. Our bus girl didn't smile once and was brusque and rushed while refilling our water and clearing our plates. The food was good, our wine was good, our wine glasses were dirty to the point where I couldn't not notice through the candlelight. This is part of the summer rush of tourists, if you're a local, avoid here in the summer. In the winter you'll be blown away.response / report this review -

My wife and I love this place. We have visited Victoria 5 times ( we live in Utah) and have eaten here each time. Wonderful, lively but still romantic atmosphere. Delicious and interesting dishes Nice spectrum of more mainstream dishes to unusual combinations. Pizza for the kids. Great service. Very reasonable prices for such an amazing dining experience. Truly fabulous.

Beautiful restaurant with a great decor and friendly staff. We sat outside next to the fire and it was great. It was fairly quiet when we got there at 5, although it was filling up fast just after 6 and could see it was getting louder. Toilets are in a weird spot, you have to walk past the counter next to the kitchen, but otherwise it's a nice setup. It's nice that it's of the main Street in a quiet laneway. Definitely worth the visit.

I just went here for the first time with my boyfriend and we were blown away! We had reservations for 7:45 and were seated at 7:40. Had our drinks, bread and orders taken within minutes and had our food 10 minutes later. The food was phenomenal (the best pasta we both ever had) and were full, happy and satisfied customers ready for our bill by 8 (we were too full for dessert). The best service, food and timeliness we have ever experienced. This place deliveries in every aspect!

Chances are slim to none that you can walk in the door & get a seat unless you are at the door when they open. Service has been excellent for us each time we've been. (Been 4 times now with my BF.) Decor is layered wood & brick; cozy & rustic with a lovely crackling wood fireplace. Place is usually bustling; great atmosphere- colourful eclectic art- high energy- good food. The food can be somewhat rich, but perhaps it's just what I am ordering. I had the venison last time, it was sort of swimming in cherry balsamic stew with my mashed potatoes. My BF had a pasta Vongole . Anyway, I should have ordered pasta because that is what I really wanted. All complaints aside, the food is quite good otherwise I wouldn't keep coming back, despite the fact that I love sipping wine here while absorbing the people & decor, which is a huge draw for me. I do love this place & it's charm.

What an amazing experience. We had some fantastic food, excellent service. The ambiance of this place was very nice. The history of the building and the restaurant was great. The chef has been there for the entire time the restaurant has been open.

My wife and I go to Il Terrazzo once every couple of years and have always been impressed. They continue to keep to a high standard. The food is amazing and the service is excellent. Servers tend to continue working there for years so they know the menu and the wines very well. They are very good about accommodating allergies. My personal favourite here is the yam stuffed cannelloni with crab cakes.
