Rebrand as Eat Bar and Patio Haramheri so the menu is completely different from before. Still a great place for snacks and drinks with friends or dates.
The restaurant has an online ordering system, it is also a great way to list out the items you want to order in person without needing to repeat it to the staff.
The foods were great aside from one of the dishes of chicken, thou it was deep fried but the sauce and such made it soggy.
This restaurant has a great vibe; the rooftop patio was very open and the personal heaters were a great touch. They had a lot of plant based items in addition to their regular menu, all of which were delicious. I highly recommend the eggplant! The only thing we weren't too fond of, which may just be a covid addition, was ordering and paying through an app (so we also didn't see service staff very frequently).
Where do I begin. The pictures of the interior aren't accurate. Don't expect a Japanese experience of dining on the floor. The food itself was super mediocre and we tried pretty much all the dishes. All of them lacking in flavour and quality. Sapporo was good and brussel sprouts, that's it..
The best Chicken Karrage I've ever had. Very good food especially if you come in a group and order multiple dishes and share. Ordering via phone and paying before you get your meal is a little weird and it can be sometimes hard to get a table. The Service is nothing to write home about but in the end the food is great.
Love the whole family of Guu restaurants! Delicious and fairly priced.
Swear I saw Cole Sprouse here a few weeks ago. Cole if you see this, email me 😏
Portions are insanely small. I ordered the Chicken Nanban and Yaki-Udon. Both were warm and didn't taste that great.
Strongly recommend Sukiyaki (lunch), Saba Aburi Sushi, Nasu, rice bowl and so much more😍
Ordered 6 - 7 menu plus a bottle of cold sake for dinner ($85 after tax) and 3 of us enjoyed the food. I got to agree that Guu Garden used to be better, tho.
Best Japanese food in Vancouver, makes you feel that you are in Japan out for dinner. Very authentic both in the flavor and atmosphere. Highly recommend it to anyone!
Great tapas and great cocktails. Tontoro and spot prawn sashimi are my favourite. After you're done with spot prawn sashimi, ask them to deep fry the heads.
Great service and food! Only go here if you're not too hungry since they serve tapas. Some servers had limited English, so be patient!
This place used to be good but has gone downhill. Lousy service and very small portions that you pay a premium for.
We went there last night for drinks/food and was told there's a 2 hours maximum per table and the place was half empty. I can live with that. But towards end of those 2 hours the waiter kept bugging us to hurry up and finish our drinks and food, which got rather annoying. I get it, it gets busy on weekends and they want to get more customers in and out. But we are paying customers and they should WAIT for us to finish. Its not like we had a whole meal to finish either, we were just about done. Not to mention there was about 2 other tables beside us with people who were there before us and they weren't getting harassed to leave. There was also several other empty tables. If someone wants our specific table they can wait their turn like everyone else. What a joke.
Sorry to say but I will no longer be returning here. This place used be good but the portion sizes are ridiculously small and yesterday with that 2 hour BS was the last straw.
Incredible food! I was here well over a month ago and I remember the sashimi like it was the last thing I ate.
Booked for a Birthday party for 15 people due to the parade we got to the restaurant 30 mins late. good thing they didnt give away our spot which was good. The food was good! specially the pork belly!. The service was good and the waiter even helped us with the cake. The only downside was they took long to give us the bill because it got busy. Overall, we were satisfied with the restaurant :)
Great spot for lunch and huge patio for the summer. Mega 1L bzzrs.Basically 3 bzzrs for $9. Service always with a smile.
*Tip* phone in your lunch order ahead of time and receive a few bucks off per entree.
I went here for a work party. I found the service and views to be outstanding, but probably due to the size of the party, the food wasn't as good as I've had at other Guu locations. It's also a VERY loud restaurant - once again possibly due to partiers.
Awesome food with a great, modern izakaya atmosphere. The large windows around the restaurant make it a nice, bright environment. One of my favourite spots in Vancouver!
It's a hidden treasure! I was tempted to not post here so that people wouldn't fill this place up; making me have to wait for a table, but it was so good I just have to! The lunch specials (even on weekends) on amazing. Great value and great food. Comes with Miso Soup, some Tofu, Eggplant, and other goodies. Located ALLLLL the way up the stairs above Honolulu Coffee (thus a hidden treasure)
Ate here for a birthday and the food was good. Told the server I was vegatarian and all my food had to be so and he brought me an order of agedashi mozzarella with fish broth when they have a supplementary vegetarian broth available. The bathroom stall had no toilet paper. Almost everything vegetarian is deep fried. Staff was very friendly and gave the birthday girl her choice of free dessert.
