Live music on Thursdays, can't go wrong with that. The red glow is neat. Big venue, nice atmosphere. I will come back.
This great club has been here forever. It's an institution. GREAT dance floor. There's a lineup on weekends but it's worth it. Good bands. It's always have a good time at the Roxy
Great club with a dance floor and a pool table in the back. It does great crowded after 10pm on the weekends. However, there is an awesome band that plays weekend nights. I always have a good time at the Roxy
Outstandingly fun! Our group ranged from 25-50 and we all were dancing all night. Staff was terrific to us all. Bring your IDs folks, like everyone American style entry. All that fun and it was a Monday night!!
The bouncers were very accommodating when I tried to go in wearing a singlet and spotted me a XL button up shirt. If you like country and bros and classic (overpriced) club drinks, this is your spot. If not, try elsewhere
Great Fun! We went as a group of four to the Roxy on a Friday night, the place was hopping (very busy), live band playing classic rock and sing-along tunes, the ones that really get you in the mood! I would definitely go back, we had a great night there.
Legendary Country Sundays and long weekend Sundays. Jaxon Hawks from JRFM DJ's and house band Locked & Loaded take the party til 3am. Beer & tequila specials no cover for industry. Every Sunday gets very busy by 11pm earlier on long weekends. Get there early and party late.
This was fun. I'd go back. Good live act, reposado was the tequila with the deal.
Went to the Roxy and they refused to let me in. Granted I was drunk as a skunk but there excuse was that I was weird Honestly guys, You could have said anything else but the fact is you guys cater to an audience of ska/punk people and you wouldn't let me in cause I was "weird"? how creatively unaware you are of your own demographic you morons. "Diet prejudice, when you aren't completely prejudice because you represent a non prejudicial establishment but people make you feel uncomfortable. There's Diet Prejudice!"
Awesome place to go. Great staff. Diverse clientele. Live bands. Lots of fun!
Restrooms are disgusting, the dance floor is dirty with garbage & is sticky. No service at the tables & takes long for them to clear off your table. The place smells of rotten odors
A Vancouver classic. Mix of everyone, slightly sleezy but in the best way. The house band is usually great. Been going here for 10 years and never had a bad time.
The music can be good especially when they have a good live band. The drinks are reasonable and the crowd is mixed between young and middle aged. Nice place to pop into for a few drinks and maybe dance if they play the right songs.
Perhaps it's that I always visit on Sunday nights (and hate country music) that this venue has never really done it for me. Lines are shockingly long and once you're in, the layout of the first bar right at the front door leaves you feeling claustrophobic immediately. Drink deals are pretty good as you can get a shot of tequila and a corona for ten bucks - if only you didn't have to fight for a spot to be seen at the bar.
Part of the "charm" or this venue is that women can often get free drinks for flashing the bartender as long as they are willing to get a lovely "Roxy" tattoo on their upper chest somewhere. The whole procedure of dumping alcohol directly into girl's mouths while they sit on the bartop slows down service and is bordering on creepy.
I'll update my review if another night of the week proves to be less crowded/more enjoyable as a whole.
