Not my favourite restaurant and not the best Italian food in Vancouver. The service was good but our wine glasses came out wet. Something you don't want to have especially when you're paying $11 per glass.
The food quality is just not on par with the prices or atmosphere. My creme brulee seemed like it had beans in it, turns out they were pistachios no crunch - just mush. I also tried the chicken salad which tasted like Subway chicken and the gnocchi which was Edible.
A little pricy but not excessively for Italian cuisine. The portions were a little small, but adequate enough for a full course meal. The problem is that everything lacked flavour. Spaghetti was the simplest I've had, and should cost no more than several dollars with cheap ingredients and simple preparation. Polenta fries were pretty tasteless. The service was pretty nice though.
We booked a table for 6.30 pm last night. We waited 15 minutes to get a table despite reservation. I mentioned to the person who took us to the table, the concierge I suppose, that it would be nice to have a table free at the time reserved as we had an event planned afterwards. He said that it wasn't his fault and that they had a lot of clients then with a sarcastic smile he asked: "how would you feel if I asked you to leave before you finish your meal?". Not a great way to treat your client. We decided to leave and won't come back.
Great night out with family for CFL BC Lions Football set up with an awesome dinner, drinks, and desert. Great venue,Great Food The Lamb Shank and Nona Maria's Lasagna put to the taste test, both "delish", coupled with a nice glass of Trapiche Malbec and the evening finished off with a shared Tiramisu and some delicious coffee. Our server Zahra was a genuine delight and accommodating without being pushy . I've found my go too game setting venue when in Vancouver whether for BC Lions-Vancouver Whitecaps FC ,the Canucks or whatever brings me back to "home base".
What a great spot. There are two sides to the place, one has live music, the other is more quite. The food is fantastic. I had Lasagna and it was delicious. We had tiramisu for desert and everything in it was made fresh and you could taste the difference. The ice cream is made fresh and is probably the most flavorful I have ever had. Highly recommend this place, we will definitely be coming back.
Great music and good food. The service was friendly, but the staff need to find the balance between getting the job done and adhering to the quiet policy during the performance.
The good: prompt and accommodating service. Food is fresh. Very modern look and feel to the restaurant.
The not so good: restaurant can get very loud when busy, making it difficult to hear servers and others in your party. Servers are prompt, but not necessarily friendly.
The bottom line: fine Italian dining option, though a little pricier.
Went there at 430 pm on a Thursday and there was wry good live Jazz. I'm not a jazz person, but was pleasantly surprised especially hearing it so early in the day. Sat at the bar and got good service. Food was decent (happy hour menu) and the price was right. The portions were quite small, but you get what you pay for. A good jazz bar.
Celebrated a 50th birthday here. They accommodated a 7pm reservation on a Saturday for 20 people on fairly short notice. The food was excellent, as was the service. Will definitely come back. The restaurant is right across from BC Place, so easy to come for a pre- game or pre-concert bite/drink!
Free live jazz happy hour during the week. Awesome shows at night on the weekends. Pizza is good.
This is the perfect venue for any jazz lovers. The tradition of the art form is deeply respected here, and the musicians featured are always of the highest calibre. The food was delicious, and so were the drinks!
Excellent service, comfortable atmosphere perfect for a date night There was live jazz playing at the jazz club attached to the restaurant which was great. Delicious food - the gnocchi is amazing! Absolutely worth multiple visits.
Last night was first time here to Frankie's with 2 friends and my husband, we had been to the old Cellar once. Great service, our appetizers were wonderful and all 4 of our meals were delicious: 1 chicken, 1 lasagne and 2 catch of the day. First time listening to the band Turbo Prop, which was an awesome band. Very friendly and casual vibe for the whole evening. Highly recommend and we'll be back.
