I absolutely love all their vegan options. They also have a beautiful and cozy booth for groups of around 5-7 but make sure you book it ahead. Worth noting this location isn’t licensed which can be a bit of a drag for parties, however they’ve let me bring my own wine a few times so that solves that.

Having heard positive things about East is East I decided to include it in a special evening. I made a reservation and upon arriving was told that the reservation no longer existed. On top of this, was made to feel that this was an inconvenience brought on by me.

Once seated we were informed that an additional charge would be added to our bill to support the musicians, which seems a little misleading and unusual as I feel establishments should independently compensate their artists.

The real unfortunate part of this experience is that it took 45 minutes of waiting, ready to order, to be acknowledged. And that acknowledgement was due to the fact that we decided to leave. That amount of wait time also felt unsettling as when we were seated we were told we only had an hour and a half until we had to leave.

This review is solely based on the service and can’t say anything in regards to the food. The ‘sample’ of chai when we first arrived was quite good!

The soothing live music combined with the intimate design of the space (dimly lit, ornate wood decorations, tapestries hanging on the walls) create an exceptionally cozy atmosphere.

Everyone was quite pleased with their meals, which were flavorful and very filling. The menu had so many options which all were so tempting that it took us forever to decide.

Which brings me to the downside The wait. Over an hour passed before we even had the chance to place our order. The waitstaff were friendly but clearly understaffed. I hope this improves as the restaurant adjusts to their new and larger location.

Beautiful restaurant, delicious food, excellent atmosphere. Showed unique hospitality, bringing out samples of chai tea and sides to try for the people waiting to be seated. The staff was very accommodating and generally friendly.

Experience was excellent EXCEPT the service was quite slow. The speculation at the table was that the wait staff was understaffed. It makes sense as the new location just opened and it may take some time for them to scale up. If they're still that slow in a few months, I would bump this down to a 3 star, but would be between 4 and 5, leaning toward 5 assuming they get the speed of service worked out.

Go there hungry because the food is so filling - it might look like small portions when you get the feast but it is always so yummy. Great flavours. Love the atmosphere & all the eastern carpets. Make sure to have the Persian tea st the end - with saffron and rose water or is a nice way to finish the meal.

Service was pretty slow, the food was very good. Extensive vegetarian and vegan selection. As well as chicken and lamb choices. Cosy and comfortable atmosphere with a fair price point.

This is a place you could go to eat with just about anyone even with weird dietary restrictions and feel confident that they would find something they would enjoy on the menu.

Samples of chai tea are given when you sit down. Very pleasant.

Can't believe the Main street store is far better than this one. I've been to the main street store twice. I don't know why the Mediterranean platter is different portions, different presentations, and different ingredients. The pictures attached tell the whole story. I won't go to this shop again.

The food here is amazing! I ordered takeout and it was ready very quickly. The staff are super friendly and they even have free samples by the door.

We have been coming here since
I was a kid and I have brought so many people here over the years. Service is always pleasant, environment is calm and relaxing and the food/drink is spectacular. Everything I have ever had their has been so tasty - never a disappointing bite.

My sister ordered the Feast with Wild Salmon and Afghan Eggplant and the rest of us had Persian's Favourite and Afghan Nomad. The food
wasn't too spicy for Afghan cuisine but the salmon wasn't very fresh. Two hours later we arrived at home and my sister got very sick, throwing up everything she had ate. We suspect the salmon was old and gave her food poisoning. Service was nice and atmosphere was pleasant but I'm never going back again.

We had a tiny birthday party there. The food was good but expensive. Things were ok until getting the bill. There were mistakes on the bill of two of us that they needed to correct. Also they charged us an extra $20 as a "cake fee" because we brought our birthday cake. I have been to many small birthday parties in Vancouver. This was the first time I heard about a $20 cake fee. I totally suggest that you hold your little gatherings somewhere else.

The names of the dishes on the menu may seem esoteric but is mostly a fusion of Northern and Southern Indian cuisines. However, the quality of food is topnotch with a very authentic taste. A tasteful and cozy ambience compliments the food very well.

This place is an experience for sure! I find myself craving it over and over, but I live so far away! Amazing food, excellent service and staff, and a cozy unique interior! Its to DINE FOR! Highly recommend! I didn't think I'd like the food this much, but I do!

Wonderful food, nice spicy food. Very friendly service. We had the butternut mango dish and it was wonderful. The restaurant could have been warmer but that seems to be a problem in Vancouver. If I lived in this area I would eat here a lot
