My neighbours had a good experience with this company, so I tried them for a back flow valve. All was well until they found some not to code plumbing which they said would require extra work (some jackhammering) and cost. Fine, but the price went up more than $3K for that day of work on a $1200 quote after the job was started. I found myself stuck.

That would have been fine and bad luck if they had done the work properly. Instead, they cut off the drainage pipe into the storm sewer for the sump pump, which was not to code, but they did NOT reroute the sump outflow to drain into the garden. So, when it began to rain hard I noticed that the sump pump in the basement was filling up dangerously high, even though the pump itself was working. Got in my usual plumber who confirmed that the sump pump had no where to drain to. I urgently called Drain City back, explaining their mistake. Their grumpy staff person came and did the drainage, saying nothing about the deficient work they have done in the first place.

In short, this company failed to create any drainage for my sump pump after cutting off its original drainage system, putting my entire basement at risk of flooding (again), all while installing a back flow valve to prevent that. Never again!

I recently hired Draincity Plumbers to unclog a drain in my basement after a heavy rainfall that resulted in my basement flooding. The technician Dmytri had recommended to install a back-water valve after telling him this was not the first time the basement had flooded. After the service was done I was amazed by their work ethic and how quick the service was done, I would highly recommend them to any homeowners for this service.

It was a very big pleasure working with the technicians in Draincity. I had a big issue with my drain as it causing lots of back ups. Draincity came on site and had completed the job on the same day. I was very impressed with the work they have done and I would highly recommend them.

didn't listen to us when we tried to share information that could help find an easier cheaper way to fix our plumbing problem. insisted that they'd have to rip up the driveway. I believe they were just looking for the most expensive solution since we were homeowners desperate without plumbing. found another contractor who didn't take that approach. ps there is a base 200$ cost for an inspection that isn't mentioned upfront. youd think for that amount, they would at least mention it.

We had our back flow prevention device installed by this company in December just before the Holidays. We had told them we were short on time and wanted to get the job done quick and smoothly. They send their guy Jason that same day and provided me with a full written quote free of charge and an unbeatable price. We started the work and they were finished within a day after Drain City's plumbers arrived the day after. We were surprised at how quick they were able to install this thing in Winter and want to thank you guys for helping us protect our home.

I had a pipe burst due to the cold weather we've been having last winter. I called Drain City and they responded quickly and took care of the burst pipe for a reasonable price. Dmitri did a good job and very friendly, efficient and had competitive prices. I recommended this company to my friends and they was also amazed of quality job they have got from Drain City company. I called Drain City Plumbers because of their senior's discount. A month ago I noticed a wet spot on my ceiling that would come and go. My son tried to fix it by tightening a pipe in the upstairs washroom and changing the washers. The wet spot came back larger than before. Dmytro, a master plumber, and a colleague came and went to work right away to diagnose the problem. Very pleasant hard-working guys. They located the problem and fixed the leaking pipe quickly. They also changed a lever on my water shut-off valve that wasn't working for free. And, they informed me of the City of Toronto generous subsidy program, which I would qualify for. They suggested a back-water valve and a sump pump. I am going to proceed immediately with that. Thanks guys, you were wonderful company and did an awesome job. Company response: Marianne, we really appreciate your review and taking the time to write it. You are smart to proceed with the City of Toronto subsidy rebate program now because combined with your senior's discount and the 80% subsidy, it will save you a lot of money. Unbelievably bad service. We booked a plumber for Thursday afternoon and moved our schedules to be home for him. He sauntered in over half an hour late, looked at the problem, said he didn't have time to fix it but would come back. And he tried to upsell us for a $200 video snaking service as well. We booked an 11AM Saturday meeting time. When he hadn't showed by 11:30 we called, and on the second call were told he had been held up and wasn't going to come until 1PM. At 1PM we called and were told he was still half an hour away. Then it came out that he had gone to see another customer after 11:30 call. The receptionist then claimed that we always booked it for 1PM (not possible as we had a commitment at that time and had made the appointment on Thursday in our blackberries). At 1:30 PM, with yet another promise he would arrive in 40 minutes and was just leaving a site, we told them not to bother.

Most amazing is that, through the whole saga, they never once picked up the phone to tell us he was running later; they waited until we called, after he was supposed to be there.

Our advice is not to waste your time with these guys. Extraordinarily unprofessional service.
