I go here for shows and really enjoy it. The staff are generally nice and the space works well for shows (good sightlines, decent sound, and the decor looks good).
One issue is that there are tables surrounding the stage area, and sometimes the waitstaff talking to the customers makes for a bit of a disruption during a nice show.
Sound system is good, and it seems to attract some big names. However the ticket prices are rather high to start out and usually only available through Ticketmaster who add on huge fees. The decor is extremely meh and the vibe very bro.
In the days just before chip and pin were ubiquitous, they overcharged my credit card $50 for $25 food and drink. Needless to say I only go here because it happens to be where a band I like is playing, and then I don't order anything.
Awesome venue. Recent caught Yukon Blonde and The Rural Alberta Advantage here. Lots of seating and a large dance floor. Multiple bars so line ups move quickly. Coat check well managed and the bathrooms were never too crowded.
Been going to shows here for 25+ years now and it's still my favorite indoor venue in the Vancouver area. Small enough to be intimate if you're down close on the dance floor, but big enough to get that great crowd energy going. Wish they had some local craft on tap, but that's about my only complaint :)
I love this venue. Regardless if you're here for a concert or just a night out, there is always room to bust a move or two! If you want to hang by the bar overlooking the crowd you can, there's plenty of free seating, and you can tear up the dance floor all night with the crowd. My favourite time here is when Slow Jam Sundays has an event or concert.
Amazing place for concerts. Small enough for you to get always a good view
Amazing concert, but seriously what is the deal with their menu? Almost no appetizers, can't get just fries. Not a place you come for dinner, where the snacks at?
A Vancouver live music institution. If these walls could talk! Lots of character, decent acoustics, reasonably priced food and drinks.
Best venue in Vancouver for a good show. It has a classic vibe, great seating (provided you get in early, and it was your intention to sit) and a famous spring loaded dancefloor guaranteed to give you a good time! Drinks are very good, and food selection is decent.
Always my favorite space for a concert. Large open dance floor, amazing balcony. And security always ensures a safe time.
Sound quality could be better, many people smoke pot in the crowd during the concerts (security doesn't bat a eye in this).
Unfortunately this is pretty much the only place where rock bands are performing on the regular basis.
Best venue in town. Spring loaded dance floor, good acoustics, decent beer selection. A great place for an intimate show.
Great memories! Good times!! Enjoyed so many performances and volunteered with the Vancouver Pride Society (we held one of our fundraisers here☺). Perfect location and staff try to keep up maintenance.
Went to see Big Wreck at the Commodore Ballroom. The concert was really enjoyable and the staff was fantastic. My only complaint was with the ticketing process. We bought tickets at the door, and once tickets had been purchased, we had to enter immediately and were not allowed to leave and re-enter. This policy ensured that we had to spend 2 hours inside the venue prior to the main band coming on. Not unenjoyable, but I would have preferred the freedom to spend that two hours at a different establishment.
I love seeing concerts here! What can I say, it's a historic music venue! The sound engineers did a good job the last show I went to.
This is one of the major stops for touring bands, both inside and outside of Canada! Major international acts tend to play here regularly, especially if you are into punk rock, folk/rock, and independent hip hop.
I love taking a trip to Vancouver, even if it's just to see a show here! It's my personal favourite venue in Vancity!
There is a wheelchair accessible elevator to bypass the stairs. It's a good idea to let the ticket staff know ahead of time if you need the lift. Sometimes staff will be on hand outside (during sold out shows) to check tickets. (And you can ask for assistance once they notice your device and your ticket stub. Accessible seating is abundant once you're on the main floor!
This venue also has wheelchair accessible restroom stalls!
Shows here are for ages 19+ because alcohol is served here!
