My mom (age 93) moved from her house to Royalcliffe. It was a move she was dreading. Once she got there she settled in easily. The residents were friendly and helpful and the staff were excellent, professional and met all of her needs. I would have no hesitation in recommending Royalcliffe.

My Father "Nelson " recently moved into Chartwell. He looked into a few retirement homes but felt the most comfortable with Julie Stewart. She was very helpful in the process. My Dad is really enjoying his new apartment. Last week he was feeling off and Sarah U the Recreation Manager took him immediately to the Nurses Office and they called an ambulance. My Dad had to have a pacemaker inserted and if it was not for the quick response of the staff at Chartwell my Dad may not be here today. Thank you all at Chartwell for being so kind.

My mother celebrated her 90th birthday with an open house "luncheon" and our family and extended family members had an awesome day! The food was attractively served and enjoyed by all. The staff made sure everything was in place and regularly checked on us to see if there was anything we needed. A huge thank-you to Christina Klemos for helping us organize the day to make sure that Mom would have a truly wonderful celebration!

My wife and I lived at Royalcliffe for about three months. We left mostly because of the poor meals. We complained about it but nothing changed. So we moved out.

The Royalcliffe building is beautiful compared to other facilities in the area but a good retirement residence is much more than bricks and mortar and this is where RRR fails. While there are a few excellent staff members with bright smiles, positive attitudes and a demonstrated commitment to doing their job well, those people are outnumbered by surly, lazy, inconsiderate and inept clock watchers. I have seen residents treated treated roughly and spoken to rudely. If staff can be bothered to address resident issues it is often with contempt and condescension. Residents are vulnerable and afraid to speak back.

My family member has now left the Royalcliffe. Consider carefully before placing yours there.

I have seen residents treated brusquely and spoken to rudely. If staff can be bothered to address resident issues, it is often with contempt and condescension. Residents are vulnerable and afraid to speak back. They are paying for basic staff assistance and courtesy, which is often lacking.

The quality of meals declined dramatically during my family members time here. Great meals became average meals then became poor, prefab meals that demonstrated little attention to flavour, freshness or nutrition,

Lengthy waits and large gatherings at the elevator doors suggest the building is underserviced in this area,

Need a minor repair to something in your room such as a leaky tap or faulty wall socket? Be prepared for a two month plus wait. The maintenance staff will tell you they are busy getting rooms ready for new residents. You should be patient and wait.

My family member has now left the Royalcliffe. Consider carefully before placing yours there.
