PROS: The hotel has a beautiful golf course. All rooms have view to the golf course. Private and quiet beach. The staff are great, very welcome. Close to the city.

CONS: The hotel need a huge renovation in the rooms. Terrible bed to sleep, old mattress fluffy and irregular. The air condition is in the wall, is a big challenge sleep with the noise. Don't eat in the restaurant! super expensive and terrible food. During raining days you need to pay old machines in the games room. Nothing for the kids, neither a simple playground. The hotel isn't kid friendly.

Beautiful location, amenities were above average, a/c didn't work but didn't bring it to anyone's attention as we were comfortable. Breakfast buffet was not available due to low occupancy, could have been made aware of this beforehand. Other than that, wonderful stay.

Just got back from an event there this week. The event itself was great, the location and atmosphere was very good, however the service was disappointing. Items on the buffet would run out without being refilled, coffee stations were empty on several occasions and when we were done eating, nobody came to pick up the plates. When the staff were advised of these concerns, there was no urgency to correct. The staff were also not very friendly, as I can't recall receiving one smile from anyone who worked there. Place has great potential, however with the quality of location, it was surprising how bad the service was. I wouldn't want to host a wedding there with the type of service we received. If you are just looking for a good location and not concerned about the service - good spot.

Resort was much better than I thought. Reviews I had read we're not so nice. Room was clean and nice. Everything in our room was working. Indoor pool and beach were great. WiFi was solid. Food was pretty good at both the resort restaurant and the on-site pub. There can be better signs telling cars to slow down. Narrow roads shared by people, golf carts and cars.

Place is nice and it is great they have their own beach access however prices are a bit steep for the food in the buffet and the drinks there. It was good but considering it is he same price as mandarin there was not enough options. Games room is nice but shouldn't be an extra charge either. Rooms look nice.

Lovely views, great food, great service. Doors are thin, though, letting noise from the hallway or adjoining rooms through easily. Staff responded quickly to noise concerns.

The Oakwood is a beautiful resort! I attended a scrapbooking retreat there and was very impressed with the service and quality of the food, guest services and conference rooms. Absolutly loved it!

We stayed one night at the resort and had an amazing experience! The staff are very friendly and the breakfast buffet was delicious! The private beach was perfect to watch the famous sunset Lake Huron is known for. We will definitely be back.

Good hotel for the price (was at a discount) however the rooms are a bit dated (as in baseboard heaters and window air conditioning). Also went to the "pub" on site for dinner however was more like a more upscale restaurant than a pub. Food was very good though.

All staff were wonderful. The food was great, and the room was lovely with a beautiful view. I would recommend Oakwood Inn to anyone. I unfortunately lost my ring during my stay, but the staff looked everywhere for it, found it, and sent it back to me- because they are that amazing! Thankyou to all the Oakwood staff for such a great stay!
