They have very wide variety of new and used bikes. Never actually bought one from them but have bought a few other items. Their customer service is very nice and I was easily able to exchange a jacket that was too small. Note though that you can only exchange and not return clothes. It’s for safety reasons.
If you are new at riding and need service for your motorcycle, go elsewhere. I dropped my bike with very minor damage. The first quote I got was $2500+ (still have the email). The only things that actually broke are the foot peg, one turn signal and gear selector. Here comes the problem
1) There are some minor scratches to foot peg brackets and the exhaust, the quote includes changing it to a completely new exhaust and bracket. These are expensive parts
2) Their per hour rate is higher by 20% than competitors
3) Their parts cost more than competitors
Their understanding is that I will claim my insurance for the $2500 damage. I told them I'm paying out of pocket and the girl said "ooh.".
I went in and asked why I need to pay $2500 repair on a $4500 bike and the girl was lost why when she actually looked at the bike. She asked the mech to come out and we go over everything. When all is said and done, they wanted to charge me $1200 for the repair + first service. I went home, and asked their Honda competitor and they said they would do it for $450 total.
Carters service department wanted to charge me 5 hours for the whole thing. Carters also said I needed to change out unnecessary part. To "save cost" they said they will bend back the gear selector. The mech lied about the labor big time. Their competitor did everything in one hour labor including first service and have a brand new gear selector. In the end I was charged about $375 for repair and first service (still have receipt). I will never go there ever again for anything.
Don't take your bike here! They have no idea what they're doing. I took my bike in just to see if the battery needed to replaced. They said they would call me the next day, I called them everyday for over a week and no one would call me back. When I finally talked to someone I got two conflicting reports on whether or not I needed a new battery.
I finally went to just take my bike back and they couldn't find it, didnt have a work order done up, but still wanted to charge me for testing the battery even though they couldn't tell me if that was the problem. I finally found it myself and left without paying.
Then took it to Modern Motorcycles on Commercial Drive. Got it tested on the spot and bought a new battery for $45. Whereas Honda would have charged $236 for a new battery and for having my bike for over a week.
Super disorganized place and not worth the headache, bring your bike to Modern.
All of my friends warned me bot to go there too but I figured a simple battery check would be safe!
Riduclous.
I wanted a second key for my motorcycleand they quoted me $60 for it. Sounds reasonable right? So I head down to the dealership to go pick up my new set of keys. The parts guy takes my current key and hands me the invoice for it for $60. He says okay I'll go cut it you can go pay for it. I pay for it and 20 minutes later he comes back with a dummy key and the key uncut. We then go to test it out and it doesn't work. At this point he tells me to call another locksmith to do it. Now all this is fine. They tried their best. But he had the audacity to tell me after they failed to copy it that it's actually going to cost an extra $35 to copy it. This is after i got quoted for $60. After I paid the $60. After I waited 20 minutes to get it cut.
I bought a new 2015 CBR300R in February 2017, and also 36 month Honda Plus warranty. At 700KM, the engine started leaking oil, and had it brought in for repair. The techs didn't clean the oil off, and I had to do it. Also, the dealer made a data entry error in my warranty, instead of my warranty expiring in 2020, the warranty states the expiring date is 2019. Which means the warranty was shorted one year. I complain this to Honda Canada, and they told me to take it up with the dealer to change it. First time I contacted the dealer, they said they will correct the mistake. I waited for a month and called Honda Canada, and I found out the expiry date has not changed. Then I called Carter a second time, again they said they will correct it. But I still haven't received my corrected warranty agreement from Honda Canada. I will never buy another Honda product again.
Good service. My car's one month old battery was dead for some reasons. They replaced a new one for me. Free. Thanks.
Fantastic service. I worked with David Lough to find my first bike. He was incredibly warm and open, and ready to allow me to test ride bikes even before I was sure I would be getting a new bike. The relaxed and positive energy allowed me the space to make the best decision and get my first bike here. They were also incredibly patient and worked with me to explain the gear, and the after purchase support has been fantastic. I definitely recommend swinging by here, and I imagine you'll have a similar experience!!
Great place to buy a motorcycle! Location, atmosphere, pricing.
I came in to buy a motorcycle and met sales rep Keenan Sawatsky! What a great guy. Nothing but good things to say about him. Matter of fact, when I came back on a follow up visit, he was promoted to assistant manager, rightfully so. Keenan worked hard to get me a great price on the motorcycle and the best part was, he continued to support me long after I purchased the bike (e.g. buying equipment/gear and suggesting recommendations). Keenan probably has it easier than most because he is backed up by a fantastic dealership, Carter Motorsports. They've been around for ages.
I highly recommend checking this place out when looking at Honda motorcycles. Their used bike selection is also quite extensive.
Bought my Africa Twin from these guys. very helpful over many emails and phone calls as I waited 6 months to get this bike from Japan due to delays in production after earthquake there. Keenan was courteous as was Brittany and they had many helpful tips regarding the bike. They also had my bike delivered same day I paid for it as I had logistic challenges with driving my car etc - and charged me nothing! Great service, friendly and helpful. would buy again from these folks.
Great shopbut when I went into the shop with my daughter to purchase the top of the line helmet, no body came over to see if we needed help. No one even greeted us and said just a minute. It was about 40 min into it when we decided to leave and find a store with people who were not too busy to help. Otherwise an awesome store.
I've bought two bikes from here, and both experiences have been great. I felt like I got a good price both times, and the staff is awesome. Every time I walk in there, I feel like I'm talking to friends rather than sales people. Keenan in sales was awesome to deal with and made the process very easy. I always recommend Carter to anyone looking to purchase a bike, and I will definintely be back.
Talked to Keenan about buying an old bike but he was away when I came in to pick it up. Fortunately the manager Kristen, who had experience with the same model, was there to help. She talked me through the paperwork, got a battery tender installed quickly, and provided an excellent orientation of the bike's features. I was able to get on the road without much fuss and appreciated the service.
