This restaurant looks intimidating. They take your phone number and text you when your table is ready. Food is great. I have tried their duck sandwich. Every piece of the food came on my plate was delicious. This place is more expensive than daily regular restaurants. I will definitely go again.

Cactus Club Cafe is somehow my only favorite franchise restaurant. I suggest it to all my friends and guests from other cities and countries to at least try it once.
I like it the way they are always very organized with flawless service.
I usually order Chicken Teriyaki Rice Bowl with brown rice and their famous Bellini for drink. It's very healthy, fresh and delicious. Staff were amazingly friendly and welcoming. It seemed like they were enjoying their job and it didn't bother me anytime they checked on me to see if I needed anything.response / report this review -

I absolutely love the mood of cactus club at Night. The music encourages you to like the food and eat. The steak is nice and the sliders are so good.

We were late arriving at the Hyatt Regency and were told we may be able to get dinner at the Cactus Club across the street, Burrard Street in Vancouver. We did. It was so good we visited again having tried other top restaurants - L'Abattoir, Forage etc. The food was again excellent and superb value. Service great. BUT, you can't see the food and you can't hear each other or the waiters talk! The table adjacent were so loud but simply because they were straining to hear each other! However, when we broached the subject of noise as in "Do you think you'd lose customers if you toned it down a bit?" The answer was no but, was followed with the fact it was the right vibe for the clientele! Even the waitress found the level of noise stressful and we could see the clientele struggling but, no matter, it's apparently the "right vibe". We cook great food at home, we eat all over the world but being able to see your food and hear your partner or friends is so much a part of the enjoyment. The food was excellent but we'll never eat there again or recommend it. Sad.

I'd normally give this location 5 out of 5 stars however based on my experience last night, I'm going to have to give it a 2.
I am a regular patron of this location and I typically sit at the bar. I have a small dog who suffers from separation anxiety and literally comes with me everywhere I go. Each and every time I frequent this location, I tie her up outside to a railing about 3' away from the heater. I've been doing this religiously and she's used to being tied up at that spot. Please note my dog was NOT on the Cactus Club patio, nor was she blocking a door or an entrance.
Last night, I tied her up at her usual spot and proceeded to the bar with my friend. Literally not 10 seconds later, I was approached by a gentleman wearing a suit, likely a shift leader, who told me I had to tie her up farther away from the entrance as "some patrons could be scared of dogs and this is a Cactus Club policy nationwide".
Instead of causing an argument or a scene, I walked out to collect my dog so I could dine somewhere else. I encouraged him to ask any of the female bartenders working at the bar if they recognize my dog and I (because I know they will).
I am intimately familiar with Vancouver's ultra strict restaurant pet bylaws; however in my defence, she wasn't breaking any rules.
In my opinion, I feel that the shift leader was honestly bored and had nothing better to do other than fabricate "Cactus Club nationwide policies".
This situation really rubbed me the wrong way and I don't think I could ever go back to this location. I would understand completely if she was stepping onto the patio, or even worse, blocking a door/entrance way, but that definitely wasn't the case.
At the end of the day, as I'm sure you will agree, the restaurant business is exponentially competitive and it really comes down to customer service and "embracing the grey", so to speak. Regretfully, neither one of these principles were exhibited last night.
Thank you for taking the time to read about my experience. I'm very disappointed, but I feel as a business manager/operator, you'll likely appreciate this unsolicited feedback.

It's a Cactus Club. However they really blinged up their takeaway package. Nice reusable bag and a step above containers for your food. Service was very good. Food, what you expect from this restaurant. We left satisfied.

Evening visit, was a little noisy from the DJ music, had to yell across the table to talk. Food is good, but as always the menu is limited to the same things that's been on there the last couple years. Good back up spot to go to for happy hour.

Two words: Food poisoning. I went there for dinner on Wed Jul 26th. I ordered a cocktail and the fish tacos with fries. About an hour after dinner back at my hotel, I got the chills, severe nausea, then a moderately high fever, which lasted for 24 hours. (I won't go into details about the rest of the symptoms -- but if you've had food poisoning, you can imagine) As I was too ill to travel, this required extending my stay at the hotel, for which the hotel charged me a pretty penny.
Other than that:
- The cocktail was tasty if a little sweet
- The hostess was very friendly
- The waitress was not
- The tacos arrived at my table cold, but looked to be thoroughly cooked, so I didn't send them back.
- The fries were good
- The place was quite noisy, with the constant thumping of club-y music. Not so pleasant.response / report this review -

Server tried to sneak premium alcohol (grey goose) onto our bill even though we asked for the well vodka. Manager took care of it. Otherwise it was good.

The place can be expensive if you are continually thirsty. The food was very good. Service can be a little hit/miss because it is so busy here on Fridays.

Cactus Club Cafe downtown is a lot different than other Cactus Club restaurants. Here, they serve up all the finest dishes available where other Cactus Clubs do not offer.
I had one such meal that is available downtown and that was the BBQ duck confit sandwich. I am in love with this sandwich and I swear the only sandwich I want to eat at a restaurant is this one.response / report this review -

The staff are really wonderful here. Usually not a long wait for a table and they have a year round patio set up. Bathrooms are clean and food is good.

what happened to service and food? tge manager must have moved on. 3rd crappy meal in a row.
they cannot cook a steak any more. salads soggy. server was hopeless today. in fact had no idea who it was. 45 minute wait for food. kind of useless for a business lunch unless you have all afternoon
