Last word - I like shopping here. If I ask for help, I will get it, along with helpful suggestions freely offered. I never feel "oversold".

I have read several of the reviews posted here. At age 71, maybe I'm a LOT "old-school", but I agree with his replies to the negative ones. Retail stores were never meant to be "playgrounds" giving into customer's "rights". What about the owners "rights" to respect?

Sat. Nov 11, 2017 - Store is open - on "a day off"! I have used email requesting a hold on paint supplies (which he had and the One-Stop Hobby store in Langley did not because he was retiring & closing & not ordering). This was my first visit to pick up the supplies (I live in Chilliwack, so it's an hour's drive) and his retail price was realistic. I don't shop on-line due to shipping cost's overhead; and exchange rate if coming from the USA. The proprietor lets me look around freely. On this first visit, I asked for product that is very hard to find in Canada - I am told due to gov't regulations but I needed it and he had it - possibly "grand-fathered" stock. I was pleased to get it. I asked for help with a '56 T-Bird detailing, and he quickly found a die-cast model (from among hundreds?) so I could point out the area of my concern. I asked about chrome paint and he showed me the product, but pointed out how it had to be used, so it wouldn't be suitable for my application. He's been at this business for years, so he knows his products. You will find a very good selection of Tamiya and Humbrol products. The Testors Model Master selection is not as complete; as I suspect modelers are moving toward acrylic paints (like the Tamiya and Vallejo ones that he has) which don't use toxic solvents. I purchased a couple of quality model-painting brushes and some styrene strips of which he has a wide assortment. I have not investigated his hardware stock as I already have most of what I need and the small expensive products are behind the counter and sort of out of sight and reach. He does have a lot of Railroad model product, but I only do plastic model kits. The assortment of kits is mostly CARS (pun) and what many modelers purchase. I was surprised to see a Revell Visible V-8 kit in stock (it's a 1960's-ish re-issue).
+ On one visit, I overheard him offer to buy-back some product that one of his recently deceased regular customers had purchased - how many stores would do THAT?
When I shop, I am on a business trip, and I do not fault the owner for sticking to business. I am not a regular shopper and don't spend enough to keep his doors open I am a customer, not his friend. He is very friendly with his regulars, as would be expected. I get the product and help that I need at an "uninflated" reasonable price. I will continue to support him.

On a recent trip to Langley I popped in to this wonderful shop. On my husband's request to get a few things on his behalf. The owner was very pleasant, informative and helpful. I got what I was looking for. Had a wonderful experience. And will definitely return on my next trip out.

On both occasions I visited it, this store had exactly what I needed when others did not - nothing major only supplies. I was forewarned about attitude from behind the counter but provided you don't ask questions or attempt small talk, you won't get any. Find what you want, pay then leave.
