The hotel is a very worn out hotel. Very little pride is taken in the up keep of the hotel. The lobby was very dirty with garbage that had blown in off the street. Not a great first impression. Rooms are old. Even when a room is old the beds can be better maintained. The sheets were clean as far as we could tell. The bathroom again is very dated for the cost of the hotel for the night.
Breakfast was standard and hot.
Bed is ancient and the springs keep poking my hip. Have to sleep on pillows. Bedding is made of a synthetic fabric so it's super hot. Room is dirty- carpet looks like it hasn't been vacuumed/washed in years. Hairs on the lamps, carpets, bed, etc that clearly are not mine. Smells of mold? A faint alarm kept going off until almost 3am. Sounded like a fire alarm from one of the rooms. Rooms haven't been updated in 30-40 years. This dumpy room cost me $225 and I can't even sleep it's so bad. Reminds me of one of those terrible hotels you would get in Cuba. The staff however were very kind, accomidating and helpful.
Very pleased with our stay at this hotel. Comfortable, clean, excellent customer service. The hot buffet breakfast was very good with nice food selection. Dining room was very nice. It would be great if it was open for other than breakfast. Didn't matter to us during our stay as we were visiting family but there are restaurants in the area as well. Would highly recommend if you looking for value for your money. We were able to qualify for seniors discount that begins at age 55.
The rooms were nice and big. I like that they still have smoking rooms. It made it more relaxing than going in and out all the time. They include a free breakfast. The only thing we didnt like is parking first come first serve. So we had to park a 3 minute walk to get our car and it cost 18. Apparently the same at the hotel. Which we thought was steep. Most hotels have 15. So overall pretty good except for parking
Nice location and staff was very pleasant. Problem is not enough non smoking rooms. We booked three rooms and had requested non smoking. All 3 rooms that we were given were smoking rooms. Could smell the smoke as soon as we stepped off the elevator. Had to sleep with the window open and still had sore eyes by morning. Also a bit chilly with the windows open in November. It also needs updating.
Our experience at this hotel, both this past weekend and last year was fairly positive. It's in a good location near Young and Eglinton Station. The room was clean and decently sized. Valet was expensive, but when compared to other lots in the area it was not too much more. Breakfast is great (just make sure you get down there early or you'll struggle to get bacon). Overall, I would recommend the hotel if you don't mind being out of the hustle and bustle of downtown.
My husband had cancer surgery in September 2016 at Sunnybrook. I stayed here for a week then to be close by. We returned for some tests and more surgery at the hospital a year later, and we stayed at the hotel again. I was amazed that the staff remembered us from our stay a year ago! They were very kind to us, and asked after our health.
We had a very large and spotlessly clean room with sofa, flat screen TV, fridge and comfortable beds. There are lots of nice restaurants nearby and interesting shops on Mt. Pleasant Ave.
At breakfast servers Jade and Ahmed remembered us and the doorman Thomas was very good to us too.
This hotel is very well situated for anyone going to Sunnybrook Hospital, and they even have a special rate for us. We would not stay anywhere else in Toronto.
Good value for the money. The complimentary breakfast was very good (exceeded expectations). The room was large and comfortable. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Our only disappointment was that the hotel no longer has a rooftop pool descriptions available from Google etc. still indicate that it does.
DO NOT STAY AT the Best Western Roehampton in Toronto. We gave this hotel a lot of business, as quite a few of our wedding guests booked rooms here. They only have a valet option for parking and the Valet damaged one of my guest's cars. The Hotel was not up front about causing damage to the vehicle, and I find this extremely sneaky and underhanded of them. Especially from such a large corporation!! When confronted, they were extremely dismissive and unhelpful with the whole situation. Very disappointed in how the situation is being handled, would never recommend this hotel to anyone. DON'T STAY HERE!
I was also just told by another one of my guests that they couldn't even stand staying in the hotel room for more than 10 minutes and that the front desk staff were rude and not attentive. The room smelled like mold, the sheets were stained and the front desk staff would not help them.
This is extremely infuriating. So don't subject yourself to this. Stay somewhere else.
In response to your comments, the bare minimum of having a clean room was not even met or resolved. And the customer satisfaction from your hotel failed on not one but two different occasions on the same day. I really think this is appalling, especially for the hospitality industry. I would definitely not recommend staying here and you can see from the response as well that your hotel really does not care about the guests.
The room was a queen. Had a hot lamp in the bathroom which was nice to dry u off and keep you warm faster. Room was clean. Front staff friendly and they parked the car for us. Pool apt is closed this year to be fixed and if the parking lot is full then you gotta park green p (which is close and about same price so no big deal). Overall it was quiet and served its purpose. Would go back. Only initial issue was booking the room. First 2 people I dealt with were completely rude and uninterested in assistinglike I was bothering them asking to book a room. Third (and would have been last time) I called we got a completely wonderful lady who corrected some of my initial concerns.
We have stayed at this hotel several times and have always found the staff to be extremely pleasant and professional. The valet service is prompt regrettably however, parking is limited perhaps due to an ongoing subway system construction project. That said, wait time for having our vehicle brought to the door is quite efficient.
The front desk staff are polite and very helpful. At check in front desk attendants clearly state all regular room charges so one knows approximately what to expect. Additionally, there are breakfast meal vouchers given to guests upon check in which make it nice for starting the morning. A simple breakfast buffet is offered in a restaurant just off the hotel lobby. The servers are very pleasant and quick to greet guests. Often they seem to recognize and acknowledge returning guests which is very welcoming. The servers have guests seated promptly and bring a cup of coffee or juice right away.
Conveniently located near Eglinton Avenue fairly easy to get to from the 401.
Great Hotel. Closest Best Western to the downtown so that is the hotel we picked. Very nice rooms. Small parking lot but the staff took our car and parked it and brought it to the front no problems and were glad to do so. Construction on the street was a bit of a problem just getting around but nothing the hotel could do about that. Very satisfied overall will stay again for sure.
Hotel seemed a bit old, but it was clean and had the amenities we needed. Service helped us get a ride to the hotel early in the morning. Location wasn't too bad either!
Positive experience overall except for one issue. Buttons in elevator lobby and inside the elevators are too high for many wheelchair users, especially the upper floors, and I almost couldn't reach the button for my floor. Also the front doors don't have automatic door openers.
Place was okay for a decent price, lobby was really nice just wished the guest rooms were a little more updated decor wise like they did with their lobby. Service was great & all the staff encountered were really friendly. Would stay there again.
