We went on a Monday evening with no reservations. The restaurant was about
full at the time. The setting was fairly casual and open-concept, which matched the fare they served. Our waitress was an extremely friendly, responsive, and attentive individual with a cool accent. I don't think my glass of water ever got below half empty before it was topped off again. I got the tourtiere, and my partner the grilled cheese. Her dish was amazing, and mine was satisfactory apart from the overdone crust. The duck fat potatoes I ordered on the side were incredible. I'd like to revisit this location and try another dish for sure. The prices felt fair and the service was some of the best I've ever had.

UPDATE: 11/7/2017
I went back a second time to try the duck poutine pizza. I eat quite a lot, and definitely thought this was too much for one person (although I did manage to get it all down). The taste was fantastic at first, but too much of anything and you start to get sick of it which was the case for me. I do recommend this dish, but I think it would be much more enjoyable as a shared dish. Fantastic service yet again.

We were here for Thanksgiving 2017. While we had a reservation, we were told they were running late on reservations and had to wait an additional 10-15 minutes. We winded up waiting for closer to 45 minutes for a seat.

However once we were seated, the waiter was prompt and friendly. We ordered the bannock which was amazing. The thanksgiving feast was also very authentic. My partner had the poutine pizza which he said was extremely good for the price. We had plenty of leftovers to take home.

Good experience, except the wait. Would come back again not on a holiday.

I usually come here in mid afternoon for a late lunch. The service is always good and the food is tasty and hearty. I think the pricing is a bit on the higher end for the dishes you get, but you are also paying for the service, the environment and the location. I liked what they have on the menu and the dishes are executed well. I tried one of their Asian-inspired dish on a set menu once but didn't think it was a good combination, so perhaps it is safer to stick with what they do best.

Your typical grab and go diner with good coffee. Good for a break from a busy day of shopping. Staff are friendly and helpful. Nice view of old City Hall.

I got the samosas and was expecting more food than I got. However, they had a really good, layered flavour and the sauces were a good complement to the subtle spiciness. My boyfriend got a burger and he raved about the bun but thought there could have been more meat. The taro chips were probably the best part of the meal! The staff were pretty friendly and often available. The table was a bit dirty though.

Great food.
We got there before the restaurant was supposed to open, but the staff was gracious enough to open it 15 minutes early just for us. We had the "adult" grilled cheese sandwich, tomato soup of the day, vegetable Samosa Chaat. All tasted great. They were making the sauce in a very hand laborious intensive way in which we could see in the kitchen while we were eating. It shows their commitment to excellent fresh food. Our server and the entire staff were great

Best service I have ever experienced in my life!! Steak was perfect and had complementing sides. Espresso was divine, but that butter tart..tres magnifique! Made with a rare honey this butter tart will melt your heart and leave you wanting..only for more

Canadian comfort food is how they advertise themselves, but they go way beyond that. Their take on comfort foods goes way beyond anything you've had at home. Their food has a unique richness and their dining atmosphere is such that it provides a very comforting experience indeed. Bannock is a great diversion from the norm! Come back week to week for a new rotating specialty menu that still incorporates old favorites. My favorites include the cream of mushroom soup that will leave you savoring every last drop, or the fireweed honey butter tart, the perfect sweetness to end any meal.

There was no bannock on the menu but that didn't stop it from being fresh, interesting and very pleasing to the palate. There were enough options that sounded great I wanted everyone at the table to order something different so I could try them all. That green mac n cheese, was great.

Ate here on Valentines day weekend and a few times prior. Food has always been amazing (I almost always get the duck poutine pizza which is absolutely delicious) and the wait staff is always friendly and accommodating. They helped us move tables after they noticed we were getting a little hot sitting by the kitchen. Price is a little higher than most places but you won't get the kind of service and delicious meals that you get here. Best comfort food ever.
