The place is great! Maybe a little to small but very good overall.

Tiny, cramped and awkward. The place is almost empty but the seat the few guests that are there on top of ear other. Older Asian waiter is terribly rude. Avoid this place. Seriously. The lady they just sat on top of me had to send her drink back because it was in a dirty glass. Geez.

Just hosted my birthday at Village Idiot on Saturday and the experience was great. The venue accomodated my group well despitr the size and our waiter was attentive and thorough. Definitely will go back again!

Cozy Irish bar with with a selection of draughts and spirits. Regular pub fare that you can expect as well. This place is popular with the late crowd as you can normally see people gather in the late hours of the evening. There are no televisions, so this wouldn't be the place to go if your idea was to catch a game of some sort.

Good food, good service, and occasional Christmas tunes!
Free WiFi and a diverse crowd, so it's a go to for working past 5pm. Ocad is across the street so it can be a younger student crowd in the school year.response / report this review -

I've been here a few times and I enjoyed myself but there were a few things that were annoying: 1) It always seems busy so they try to jam pack you and your party in a corner, it can get quite sticky and uncomfortable if you plan of hanging out for a few hours, but a lot of people eat and leave, so I'm assuming they expect everyone is en route. 2) Almost everytime I've been there, the waiter has come up and suggested we pay our bill before he/she ends the shift so they can get their tips and leave for the night. I found this to be a little inconvenient since I was not done my meal and even if I was I would order more drinks. When this happened the third time, I decided I would not visit again. I am okay tipping in the end or at the beginning, but I would like to not be interrupted for reasons that have nothing to do with me but with the way their system is run. Everyone wants to get paid, I get it. I feel for the waiters, but I am not there to pay you. That is the responsibility of your employer to make sure you get your cut for your hard work 3) The bathrooms are tiny and quite gross and to top it off 4) the food was mediocre but the price was not. The only thing good here is the beers on tap. Save yourself some time and walk another block to Baldwin village for many more options.

Awesome spot! I was in town with friends and it was the first time we've all been to Toronto. The service was excellent, super friendly people. The food was amazing too!! I'm going back here every time I come to Toronto.

Love the beer selection. Good service. Decent food. Very cozy but also very busy. And noisy, bring ear plugs. Right on Dundas across from AGO, in summer open to street, great for people watching.

A lot of special beer here, we had strawberry beer that was pretty good. Food was fine, typical pub food. Overall good services and I'd come back for the beer.

The food was worryingly quick, it tasted like they just microwaved everything. The fries we got were somehow cold even though we got our food in less than 5 minuites. The waiters just abandoned us after clearing our plates, there was no offer or desert or the bill. We were waiting for almost twenty minuites before i got up to go pay and the waiter asked me to sit back down and said he would bring it. Good beer selection though, lots of choice.

Our waiter was nice and friendly, made for some good conversation. This bar is owned my the same people as sin and redemption (next door) so expect the exact same menu at both places.

Great service, great beer selection, and cozy atmosphere.
This place has been a go-to on my list for a number of years. A fair bit of warning though, the glasses they use are half-pints and they charge close to double the base cost of the drink.
So if you like Beer X and it usually costs $4.00 for a full pint, you'll be paying close to $6 for a half pint here.
HOWEVER this is the kind of place you go to for beers that aren't usually aren't easy find. So choose one that you want to try and see how it goes Experiment, just like my ex-girlfriend!response / report this review -

Great selection beers and hard liquors. Great location on Dundas. Good service. A little dark in here at night but good ambience. Old school bar appeal. Didn't try the food.
