First time. Had a great time. Bought a two drinks for $13.50. Saturday night was $20 cover. Was also given a food ticket but not sure how I was supposed to use it.

Beautiful restaurant, good music, and tasty drinks but very poorly managed. We did not want bottle service so the hostess seated us with the understanding that we would not be served at the table and would have to buy our drinks at the bar. Later on, 2 servers told us that we must order food or bottle service in order to keep the table. Ruined my best friend's bachelorette party!

It's a nice bar which tranforms into a bar at around 11:30 pm. The crowd is decent with more young professionals and mature people. Entry is free.
Overall a good experience.

20 mins into my meal was rushed out because our table was reserved for bottle service. Server rudely moved our food off the table and started setting up. Have come here many times and had no problem but because of this I will never go back again!

Quite dim between the hours of 7-8pm for dinner. Menu selection was decent, with good options on drinks.

Be aware that it's in the club district and there is no parking (parking is limited and pricey, due to the area ). Great spot for a quick bite before you club with live dj on site. Nice interior and exterior.

Food was mediocre at best - not worth the money. Spice Route isn't really known for their gourmet food.. but the experience was just terrible. If you're vegetarian, good luck trying to be accommodated. Came in a large group so we had a fixed menu but the were not willing to accommodate any of our vegetarian friends off the menu. Basically could eat 1-2 items and were stuck with the same bill as everyone else. Reviews are correct, bar staff is not attentive. Were surprised with the type of crowd after dinner. Used to be considered upscale/mature crowds a few years ago, not my experience.

If you want great food and great service this is the place to go in Toronto. Have some food, have some drinks and then the DJ comes out. This restaurant is awesome !

Everything was fine until we were by the DJ booth. There was a group of clearly under age boys who I think were friends with the DJ.
Not only were they disgusting towards my girlfriends and I, they pushed us and told us to f**k off when we rejected their advances.
Definitely didn't expect this when I went out tonight. I understand being 17 and going out but have some manners as a decent human being. And if you're a bar that's going to make exceptions for certain people, make sure they behave.

It was random to find this place, very pleased. Good music and quite funny advertising and commercials playing above the bar. Good times all around. Just a bit weird with the sliding doors for the bathrooms..

Food = GREAT, Service = AWFUL! I went to the Spice Route with a group of 9 girls for a bachelorette party. We planned ahead, and were even planning on staying for the dancing/club part after dinner; however, the waitress was SO INCREDIBLY rude, we completely changed our plans. None of us had ever been there before, and the waitress seemed VERY unimpressed that we had never been there and didn't understand their "tapas" style. We understand, we just didn't understand what the portions for each plater were like and since we had a mixture of dietary restrictions we were trying to be fair. She totally IGNORED half the table when taking a drink order. Near the end of the meal we received a COMPLIMENTARY bottle of champagne. We thought that was amazing, but then we were quite surprised when we were LITERALLY paying for each of our portions, that they HAD LEFT THE FREE BOTTLE OF CHAMPAGNE on the bill and we were getting charged. SO we had to refund everything, divide the bill again and start anew. We also noticed another dish we ordered but never received. THE WAITRESS BLAMED US FOR NOT TELLING HER THAT WE HAD NOT RECEIVED THE DISH! I didn't know it was my job to make sure she knew how to do her job. I was incredibly unimpressed with the service. Had she cared a little bit more - we would have all tipped her MORE, atop of the forced gratuity. But her lack of care and rude attitude completely made me hate this place and I will never speak nicely of it ever!! ALL I CAN SAY -- MAKE SURE YOU CHECK YOUR BILL!!!!
