I've always liked this hotel, have stayed before. However I've discovered, as of last night's stay, that they are dog friendly. Which I'm sure most the time is fine, but we had the pleasure of staying next to a yippy dog that was freaking out that it's people were gone. It barked incessantly from 3pm until 2 am, when I guess it's humans finally returned to the room or we finally fell asleep, not sure which.
We called front desk, no other suitable rooms available, as we had our children with us. They were supposed to call back with an option, but never did. I was actually calling other hotels in vaughan at 1 am trying to find somewhere else to stay, the idea of relocating all our bags with two kids in pajamas at 1 am in the snow didn't seem like it was a great alternative. If they are going to be dog friendly, they need to be prepared to deal with it when it goes bad. A policy that if the dog is barking it will be removed from the room until it's people return. Something! Zero sleep. Not impressed.
Great looks and features BUT did not have hot water to the room. My coworker had the same thing. The front desk told him to run the water for 10 minutes. At 2.5 GPM, that's 25 gallons of water to waste before he potentially got hot water.
My first night I tolerated it thinking it was a high volumn time. Second night ran the water for 8 minutes and still no hot water. Called the front desk after and they said they would fix it or leave a new room key for me to use the next day to shower in. Third night and last night of my stay, the same thing! And no key below the door.
Front desk manager told me that it was because it was cold out (it was 0 deg that night!) and that the hot water takes a while to get to the sixth floor.
Then proceeded to give me the room key to the room beside mine. How ironic!!!
Not compensated and stupid excuses.
Want to get the most bang for your buck when it comes to hotels, well Aloft is the way to go. Nice modern room, gym, swimming pool, bar lounge, pool table, breakfast and the list goes on. Better than a lot of downtown Toronto hotels, if you don’t mind traveling.
Our room was clean and very spacious. The design of the room was intended to provide as much as it can while taking up as little space. The morning breakfast buffet was delicious, it consists of scrambled eggs, hash brown potatoes, bacon and sausages. There was fruit and breads offered as well. The staff was genuinely interested in our stay and helped out when ever we asked.
I was going to a wedding and this was the hotel I chose to stay at but this was a great idea the staff was amazing and very helpfully no matter the question the rooms were very comfortable and clean when I stayed. The room was set up and the amenities were great the internet was good could of been faster. The only issue I had was with a box hooked up to the tv that didn't work but that was it all in all a great place for the price
Room was nice. Modern decor. Shower was great. Friendly staff, decent food at the bar. Overall, good place.
Stayed for a week.
Staff was friendly. Service was great.
Location near major attractions is good, can walk to the mall, 5 min drive to wonderland, easy to get on the 400 highway.
Hotel itself is very stylish and modern. Probably built recently. Makes excellent use of windows to get natural light everywhere, even the bathroom. Downside to this was that if you turned on the light for the bathroom, there was a lot of bleed over into the sleeping area. Colour scheme was a mix of shiny metal with bright colours that was easy on the eyes.
Hotel pool was comfortably warm.
Had a gym with the basics.
Breakfast is not included, but a small selection of hot food is available in the morning.
There is a "convenience store" style selection of food including sandwiches available for purchase all day.
Front desk can sell tickets to Legoland at a rate better than we could fund elsewhere.
Overall it was good and comfortable for a vacation week with kids.
Room was small but very modern and well put together. I was a little disappointed to learn that none of the rooms had tubs, only stand up showers, but the staff's friendliness more than made up for it. The WiFi wasn't very great but thankfully I was able to connect an Ethernet cable into the wall where the media console was connected, and it allowed me to log in and surf on a much better connection. I did not partake in the complimentary breakfast buffet but I did walk by it on my way out and it both looked and smelled delicious.
A very clean hotel, polite & attentive lobby staff. Check in was easy and our room was perfectly made up. Certainly one of the cleanest hotel rooms I've ever stayed at. The mattress was comfortable, pillows were good for me, buy some of the kids found them too firm. The shower was spotless and it had one of those oversized shower heads. It's directly across the street from the huge Vaughan Mills mall and driving distance from every kind of restaurant you could want. I'll definitely stay here again.
Everything was really nice! The hot water in shower did not function properly, but it shot out warm water.
Located just outside Vaughn Mills Mall. Modern/Trendy look. Feels brand new for being a few years old. Helpful staff and clean rooms.
Great Staff Great Sleep. Room was clean, bed comfy, bathroom clean. The room is we'll set up but a little small. There is a work desk. I love the pencil rather then a pen. Stay here again no question. The area is a bit under construction but does not interfere. Also ask for a non adjoining at check in the sound from the other room comes through very easy. Great place to stay compliments to the staff. They certainly made the stay even better. Definitely stay here again.
Good service, modern-looking rooms, and a Very comfortable bed! Right across the street from Vaugh Mills, so it's a great place to stay and shop.
Enjoyable stay. Rooms are nice with a great shower/bathroom area. Was comfortable and clean. Very friendly staff. No complaints.
