My days of staying in a hotel/motel/chalet while visiting Banff are over. Upon checking in I was given a very thorough orientation and tour of the location (well, as thorough as it could be given that I didn't arrive until the evening and it was dark).
My room, the King Suite, was warm, inviting and cozy (and also very clean). The bed was very comfortable with 6 pillows, that I swear, were all different (which was a real plus for me. I hate being given 6 pillows that are all firm, sky-high and leave me with a kinked neck). The bathroom had a large, lovely soaker tub, a separate walk-in shower and a heated floor. Everything about this room, in my opinion, was perfect. If I had to knit-pick, and trust-me this is knit-picking, a corner shelf in the walk-in shower would have been convenient as would a hook or two on the back of bathroom door.
Keep in mind that this is a Pension which means it's more communal than a hotel, if that makes sense. For example, there's no in-room coffee maker or kettle. Instead, you have the option (during off-hours) of going to the kitchen, getting yourself a french press and sipping on your cup of joe in the living room should you feel like socializing, or head on back to your room and drink it their.
Another small detail that made this place as great as it was, was the staff. Breakfast is provided during certain hours, however if you'll be out and about before it starts, the staff will put something together for you and leave it in the fridge for you to grab on your way out.

The stuff was very welcoming. The room was remarkable. It was very large, with a seating area, enormous and very comfortable bed, sink + (empty) mini fridge, and bathroom. It was very clean, it felt as if we were the first guests in that room. The included breakfast was a let down with toast and bagels, jam or peanut butter, boiled eggs, yogurt, and small selection of fruit. There's also a selection of books and board games next to a cozy fireplace, and the Inn is within walking distance to downtown.

My wife and I stay at small places like this for the personal feelings we expect from staff. We were treated with local recommendations for things to do, places to see, places to eat, and walks. Our room was large and comfortable. Breakfast was good with a large side board of items including cereals, fruit, coffee, hot chocolate, toast and jams, that we enjoyed. Warm, comfortable, and great staff, yes we hope to return.

The hosts welcomed us kindly and thoroughly shared recommendations for attractions & activities in & around Banff. The room was amazingly homey (excellent washroom)! Location is a short walk from downtown and just a few minutes from Bow River (night photographers can appreciate). Also, breakfast is a game changer.

My wife and I stayed at Banff Boutique Inn on one of our honeymoon nights. The staff were incredibly friendly and very welcoming. They had left us kind note of well wishes, which was a very nice touch! We stayed in the king size bed room with an attached full bathroom that was very charming and my wife said it was one of the comfiest beds she has slept in! Would very much recommend and will be coming back for the occasional anniversary.

Very friendly staff, rooms are clean and comfortable. Feels like a home away from home. Breakfast has lots of variety and tastes great. Wonderful place to stay at a reasonable rate.

Cozy, quaint, perfect!! Spent 4 days and 3 nights and absolutely fell in love with the charming place! If you want to be close to downtown yet out of the busy this is the place. It's a QUICK 5-7 minute walk to downtown. I will recommend this place to everyone I know!

It was my first visit ever to Banff and I decided to stay here because it looked calm and confutable, and it was. Great room but ever better service. It make me feel like a was at home. Very calm and relaxing place. It fully deserve a 5 star rating!

My stay here has been fantastic! The rooms are so cute, the staff are lovely, and breakfast in the morning has been delish. Normally you get what you pay for with hotels but here things have been above and beyond what I expected. Highly recommended.

Update: the girl who worked that morning for breakfast called and apologized, very nice about it.
Feels like a B&B, very clean and comfy rooms. Really close to Banff, an easy 15 minute walk. We stayed in the King room for one night over new years. It's just the right amount of room for 2 people. There's a room with a bunch of games and a fire place, really nice.
The only odd thing with the room was the hot water wouldn't come on the sink for quite a while, and you had to turn it all the way up.
Breakfast is from 8-9:30, but we missed that part during the tour because someone was calling us. We came down around 10:30 and the girl down there was very unhelpful and uncaring. Two other rooms also came down around that time as it was new years day but she still just sat and pointed to the loaf of bread. The other girl, Naomi finally came later and was very nice, offering everyone fruit. Naomi was very nice the whole visit.response / report this review -

This place was excellent. We stayed for two nights in November. Very clean, great staff very knowledgeable about the town and events. Comfortable room. Breakfast was fresh, clean and perfect! We even got to watch elk grazing in the wooded area across the street while eating breakfast! Quick walk to the main road. We will be back!
