A really nice hotel. It is kind of on its own out here but that is what is nice about it. Access to great hikes (summer and winter) and the hotel itself has some great features. I really wish they would finish their hot tub though! I bet it will be amazing when finished.
Comfortable beds and friendly service. Lots of dinning options and the food is good.
We've DJ'd a number of corporate events and weddings at the Kananaskis Marriot over the years - always a pleasure to head up to the hotel. We've stayed in the hotel on a number of occasions, the beds are very comfortable. The location here is exclusive (no other facilities are in this area) with outstanding views. We've always found the staff very professional and accommodating to work with. In the summer time they offer a nifty event tent with a giant propane heating system. The meadow in-front of the hotel is often used for wedding ceremonies but no power is provided - so we often have to provide our own generator or battery bank for audio production.
The scenary was amazing!! Staff are very friendly and nice. Room is spacious and clean, with a nice coffee maker. The food at bar was great as well (my coworker won couple hundreds on slot machine!!)
My family and I spent a few nights there last week. It was nice since the beginning we entered the hotel. Emmy (Front Desk) greeted us warmly and even spent her time to chat with my kids and gave them some toys which made them so happy. We went to Forte restaurant, the server who helped us (forgot her name) was so nice. Food was good compared to the price but at least our kids liked it. Overall I would say the property is great.
Stayed for 2 days with family and had the most wonderful time. They are in the midst of a huge renovation but the suites were silent and you would have no idea. The staff were incredible and genuinely helpful, welcoming and attentive. I can't wait to come back when they have their new huge Nordic spa completed. It is a gem of a place in the middle of the beautiful rockies.
A great lodge with great staff, but we had issues. First the good stuff. The space is nice, the staff are excellent, there are several food options, pool, and very kid friendly -- my daughter ate free because of her age. And the bed was very firm which I appreciated after driving ~800 miles over 3 days. And while the it is a ways away from Banff and other destinations, it is quite and beautiful. But
We visited in August, and since the lodge is designed for winter visitors and doesn't have A/C the room was HOT. We were upgraded to one of the two floor rooms where the beds are upstairs -- which was a bit of a disadvantage in the summer since heat rises. The room was sealed up and the shades open so it was very HOT and it took a until the next morning to cool down. We enjoyed the nice pool, but the hot tub was closed because they were cleaning out some insects that had bitten some guests. And finally, the ceiling fan above our beds seemed to be on the same remote frequency as another nearby room so at 1AM and 6:30AM, I was fighing with the other room to keep the fan speed down and the light off.
The next day the maintenance crew fixed the fan issue and after we cooled down the room (and kept the shades drawn) the room didn't get too hot again.
Stayed there for a weekend away. Rooms have no A/C and the beds I found to be quite hard which makes it difficult to sleep at night (for me anyways). Lots of construction happening, but I wasn't bothered by it. Dog friendly which is great and there's lots to do around the grounds. Staff are friendly and helpful. Overall, would recommend it and will stay again, though not in the summer months
A wonderful stay if you want to escape the city but crave a quiet that Banff can't offer, and still have a space that is very family friendly. The pool, hot tub, and sauna were exceptionally maintained (and while I didn't use it: the workout room looked very nice!). The restaurant was by far the best hotel restaurant we have ever been to (the food was reasonably priced, but exceptionally flavourful). We only stayed for one night, but we have vowed to come back in the future to stay longer. There was something truly peaceful about being here.
Despite the outrageous food prices. The construction and confused front desk, I have to find it up to this place. If you had asked me yesterday then o would have rated this 2 stars. But tonight after my room cleaning (only on Mondays and Thursdays) I had a clean room and a personal note. Someone named Travis left me extra coffee pods for the coffee maker. He noticed that I ran out of my personal stash having not been home in 15 ish days. That extra coffee made the world a better place.
We will not be staying here again. Ridiculous layout. Have to walk to and from one building to the next to get to pool, restaurants, lobby etc. Restaurants were way over priced. We stayed in a "newly renovated room" and the bathroom door didn't close properly or have a lock, it had a broken light switch, hole in the wall inside the cupboard, Bed was hard as rock, Room was terribly insulated. Staff brought us a space heater, but the noise from outside our room from guests coming and going was ridiculous.
Requested room with tub when booking. And reminded guest services again upon arrival and was assured our room would have a tub. Get to our room, no tub. When we phoned to request a room change they made it out like it was a huge favor they were doing us.
New rooms are spacious and beautiful. Super comfy beds. Amazing food. Only complaint is the inconvenience of the construction on going for improvement. No disruptive noise though and it will be done one day
This used to be a favorite of our family, but since Marriott has taken it over, there have been subtle decreases in the service. Used to be lots of nice little touches when you checked in and around the hotel, but seems a lot more soul-less now. On the plus side, the pool/hot tub is great for kids. It's in a beautiful location, it's pet-friendly.
The restaurants could use an upgrade. The brunch used to be outstanding, but was very average (and expensive) the last time we went.
Have always loved the hotel, mainly for the location. Our New Years visit fell very short of expectations. Hotel is being renovated. Our Loft room had NO bathroom door. Smaller problems were no hairdryer, no fridge, no ceiling light (loose wires hanging), heater would not work, required use of a small portable for entire space. When discussing the bathroom door issue with the hotel it was considered by them a finishing touch, I personally feel it should be required to occupy the room.
