Mountain Equestrian Trails is a truly beautiful jungle paradise and I highly recommend this lodge. The staff are extremely knowledgeable and hospitable. The cabanas are beautiful and the food absolutely delicious. I stayed here with my two sisters for 6 days of horseback riding and Mayan ruins tours and we loved every single day. Every ride was unique and beautiful. I wish we could have stayed even longer. The bird viewings here are amazing and it is a true retreat from the chaos of our modern world. We were so well cared for by everyone. The staff is extremely knowledgeable, attentive and kind, and the owners are extremely hospitable and welcoming. From our plane's arrival in Belize city to our departure to the coast, the people at MET made sure we arrived and departed safely which made our stay in Belize exceptional. We are looking forward to returning again to this beautiful equine jungle paradise!

The owners are beyond hospitable, it was like being welcomed into their family! The staff are extremely knowledgeable about the jungle, plants, animals, etc. And are more than happy to share. The food was wonderful, I ate more than necessary, but it was so good! We went here as part of our honeymoon and we are already planning our next trip here. I wish we had stayed another day or two. I didn't think leaving would be so sad

The place is a paradise in the jungle, super attentive staff and wonderful food. The excursions were unique and adventurous. It was the highlight of our trip and we definitely plan on returning!

This lodge has a special place in my heart. It was magical. There were a lot of animals to play with/admire from a distance. Such as tarantulas, geckos, bats, exotic birds, dogs Most were nocturnal so it was spookier at night. Still waiting for a jaguar to show up.
Jim, his family, and staff were the heart and soul of this place. They welcomed us with open arms. Jim is an encyclopedia of knowledge and stories that kept our family style meals one of the most memorable aspects of our stay (stay tuned for more of him). I liked him a lot. We (Jim, guests, Chris and I) sat at a round table for our breakfasts and dinners (no phones). We had deep, fun, vulnerable and authentic conversations. People don't do that anymore. It was neat to see Chris (super introvert) talk to everyone and share his stories. I don't think our trip would be the same if we didn't stay at Jim's place. Had a fantastic time at MET, which is a wonderful retreat with great rides to some unique places (can't recommend the cave enough, and swimming in waterfalls was amazing). Most incredible base, filled with hummingbirds, fireflies and bats that get rid of the mosquitos. Romantic rooms, lit by paraffin lamps, backing onto the rainforest. No electric in the rooms, but charging point and (slow) wi-fi in the communal building (note that there isn't any mobile reception in the area). Great food (you won't go hungry!) including on the rides. (single traveler, 4 nights)

An amazing vacation get away. Horseback riding, canoeing, hiking, waterfalls. The staff is amazing and does an amazing job getting people together. Aaron and Geo see to everyone's needs. Great visiting with Jim and Chuck and their stories. Rustic and backwoods. Great memories.
