We visited in October and I absolutely loved Maruba's. The staff are all AMAZING. We had the same waiter most days and he was so attentive and made sure we were taken care of at all times. The tour guides and drivers were so wonderful and had a wealth of knowledge. Each employee really seems to care about this place. They go the extra mile to put out fresh flowers each day and make sure the outdoor areas are clean. The owner made sure everything ran smoothly from airport pickup to all our transfers on our day trips. Yes, Maruba's is secluded, but that is exactly what we wanted. The day trips and tours were pricey but worth the money considering you get transportation and access to some amazing places! Plus, it was enjoyable to just relax at the resort. Don't let the other reviews fool you, the rooms are adorable. It is a true jungle spa, so of course it isn't going to be anything to fancy. Thank you Melanie!

Very good, scenic, romantic,green lost in the jungle resort,once named Maruba Jungle Spa Resort .great food,has hot tub & swinging pool.Ask for Melany she is a great host.

An amazing place to be love the atmosphere,very peaceful and the staff is amazing great food and lots of activities to do like cave tubing and horseback riding,I would recommend it to all my friends and family.

I cannot say good enough things about this place. From the tours, customer service, ambience, staff, and resort itself everything was absolutely perfect! :) The tours were small which allowed us to get specialized attention and information about history of Mayans and nature of Belize. The resort was extremely relaxing and beautiful. I would recommend staying 4-5 nights to enjoy tours and a day of relaxing at the spa. Our favorite tours were Lamanai and doing baboon sanctuary and altun ha in one day. Doing baboon sanctuary by itself might be too short but once we added altun ha it was perfect. Cave tubing was amazing as well. :)

I loved my stay at the resort with my family. Our room was wonderful and was cleaned several times a day. The resort was in the middle of the jungle, so it was very exotic and beautiful. The people were super nice and the food was awesome every day. I loved the drinks, excursions, staff, everything! The hot tub was very nice, but the wifi could be better. I have no major complaints, but for sure bring bug spray :)

Warning needed here, we were very disappointed despite positive reviews and their website. Our room was pretty shabby: the bathroom doors didn't close so there was no privacy, the bathroom had this awful smell at all hours of the day, the sheets and curtains were shabby and ripped, the wifi was barely existent and you had to ask for the password to be put into your device every time you wanted it (they won't give it to you), and they promised a refrigerator and didn't deliver on that. I had to give them my things that needed to be refrigerated and then ask for them every time I wanted them. The gym and the basketball/racquetball court are extremely dated.

The website also infers amenities on site that aren't always available or they cost quite a bit. They profess 1000 acres of jungle but don't tell you that you have to hire a guide for $100 per day (possibly per person, my friend and I can't remember) to take you through the area. One of the pools had a weird film on it so we didn't swim. It is also very remote, which is part of the relax and uncouple from the world promise, but means to do anything you have to pay $100-$150 per person to do most day trips.

The menu was very limited, though in fairness the chef assembles specials every day that were pretty good. In addition, I'm gluten free and the chef tried very hard to accommodate me, for which I was grateful.

When I shared our thoughts on the place with the owners, we received a cold response about it (with a smile, but still very cold). We left 3 days early because we had nothing to do and would prefer to be in our homes where we were comfortable.

Bottom line though is that I would not pay $200 or even $150 per night to stay here. I might pay $100 per night, so if they priced themselves differently my review might be different, but probably not - the "luxury" was just not there, frankly the basic needs of a room were questionable.

Great getaway! The staff is amazing, the grounds are beautiful and the service is impeccable. They have a wonderful spa on site, a heated mineral bath and two other pools. Awesome place to visit.

We stayed here for the last few nights of our honeymoon. By far the best food we ate in Belize!! The customer service was excellent and we really felt like the owners had created a strong team!! Melanie was so sweet and upgraded our room since it was our honeymoon!! there were beautiful red hibiscus flowers all over our room and all around the resort! We learned that they are good to eat!! Our medicine walk in the jungle was lead by Amilkar who was so knowledgeable and friendly! He really customized our experience!! Overall we loved staying here!! Great to visit the ruins, have a spa treatment and be in the jungle!

Welcome to the jungle! This resort was awesome. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by Melanie, property manager, along with two rum punches in coconut shells! What could be better? The room was spacious and comfy with the utmost attention to detail. We really loved the original mosaics and artwork that were all over the property. With just our luck, there was somewhat of a cold front blowing through Belize while we were there, but that just meant we only put our feet in the pool. The naturally warmed mineral bath, however, was lovely! This was truly a time to shut out phones off (also because we only had wifi in the main lobby area) and relax in nature. Dining in the tree house was definitely one of my favorites! The food was okay but I think that's just a personal preference in not really having a pallet for Caribbean flavors. On the contrary, the drinks were delicious! Overall, we were extremely pleased with our two nights which we felt was just enough time to disconnect and enjoy our surroundings.

Upon entering the jungle, we were greeted by the most friendly staff, provided a refreshment of a coconut with its own water and decorated with an edible flower. Every space is uniquely decorated using mostly local/native materials. The designs of the bungalows, the swimming pools, spa rooms and lounge areas and even the landscaping are a feast for the eyes. Speaking of feasts, my palate was pleasantly pleased and surprised by the gastronomic delicacies offered at every meal. The seafood is divine. Choosing a relaxing day at the magnificent resort, or an adventurous walk through the jungle with a machete-laden guide, you can't go wrong. Our guides provided personalized tours to the Mayan ruins and a boat tour for snorkeling to the coral reefs. I didn't have time to take advantage of the other tours offered, but I'd definitely like to go back for more! I can say that I have never had a better, more relaxing vacation than the one I experienced at Maruba.
