Walk out the door to your room and get 12 life birds! Attached and food were excellent and even helped me find my phone that I misplaced because I was so distracted by the birds!

Friendly staff, rooms are adequate for price. Food and drink is a little on the expensive side here, small portions in restaurant. Lovely setting by the river, lots of wildlife.

We didn't stay here, just ate at the restaurant. The juice was really great but the food was below average and not a good value for the price. However, the setting was beautiful and the staff was very helpful.

The whole staff is nice, courteous, attentive they made us feel like we're home away from home, food is AMAZING, we had cable & wifi they're kitchen restaurant is C L E A N !!!

Stayed a few years ago and really loved it, would stay again if I ever go back. Places were clean, drinkable water, cashew wine, bar/food. I'd say the staff were friendly but everyone everywhere we went was friendly if your there for business go find a hilton hotel, if your on vacation, go to the black orchid resort.
Edit: Oh and howler monkeys nearby, there was one in the tree outside our room for a bit.

Black orchid is fine for the price. Clean & comfortable rooms & really nice grounds. Didn't wow us though. They could do a bit more to make this place better esp since it's right on the river. Food & drinks a bit pricey too.

The staff was extraordinary. We had an excellent time. The rooms were clean and cool. We were treated like we were the only guests on site. The food was delicious. Would definitely recommend to anyone.
