Five stars for everything at the outpost - the 20 cabana rooms, restaurant, staff, and daily activities. The rooms are large, have hot water in the mornings, and plenty of electrical outlets. No AC but the ceiling fans cool the rooms. At the restaurant the food is excellent. The hibiscus juice was a pleasant surprise. They pour seconds for the breakfast orange and grapefruit juice. Be aware that the food portions are large. The daily menu is posted after supper the previous night. The outside edge of the open air restaurant is ringed with hummingbird feeders. The staff members are friendly, helpful, organized, and excellent guides on the river, marsh, and nearby Mayan ruins. There are a variety of activities for touring the marsh for bird watching and other wildlife, Mayan ruins at the Lamanai site, 19th century British sugar mill ruins, and seeing after dark creepy crawling things. There is a library in the room above the restaurant.

One of the best places I've ever had the pleasure to visit. Modern, clean and spacious rooms. Some of the best food in Belize. And most importantly, extremely helpful and knowledgeable staff make this place what it is. They can take you birding, teach you Mayan history, cruise into the jungle, or whatever else you're looking for. Minutes fron the impressive Lamanai ruins, the lodge is well worth a trip. I can't wait to go back!

Love this place. Beautiful location, excellent staff who know everything there is to know about the local flora and fauna, great food, reliable well-maintained infrastructure. Really just a great place to escape to now and again.

Great people. Excellent and abundant food. Lots to see and do. Lots of birds and other wildlife. Very nice cabanas, although no air conditioning. Good ceiling fans made it comfortable. Highly recommended.

The place is awesome! Very friendly staff and great guides. A wide range of interesting activities (visiting Mayan ruins, birdwatching, canoeing at sunrise, helping the guides to track and tag crocodiles - just to name a few) is offered, some of them are included in the room price. The food is terrific too, with elements of traditional Mayan cuisine. Spent there 3 days and enjoyed every minute of it.
