We stayed a couple nights and had a great time at Mariposa. Nice beachfront, pool, bar, and restaurant. Neatly managed by Sharon and Bruce, the place is modern, clean, the staff is motivated and the service is spot on. The restaurant serves excellent food at reasonable prices. Placencia town is not far, and with the bicycles provided at the property it takes only 5 minutes. This is a place we would like to return one day.

Lovely place, very welcoming owners. Beach is so so when it comes to swimming (recommend going further south or to town beach) but pool is great, staff super friendly, and food good (a little expensive).

This resort was across the street from my BNB. It's open to the public for no extra fee. Beautiful grounds. The beach is lovely with a freshwater pool and outdoor restaurant and bar. There is service on the beach. Staff is so wonderful and accommodating. We went back for dinner upstairs and the food was fantastic. Dining room overlooks the ocean. Reasonable price. The accommodations we saw were tree house suites. We would come back and stay here!

A long drive to get here down the peninsula. A Canadian couple have owned this place for 5 years. They just built the "treehouse" cabins just over a year ago. The cabins are nice maybe 400 sq ft. One large room with a bathroom, limited furniture, no TV or other electronics, no wifi. A minute walk to the main building which houses the restaurant upstairs along with a make shift office. Small pool leads to the beach. Overall it is a nice place. Food was generally good. But the owners are far from warm. They were generally friendly but they really seem to lack the skills and knowledge to run a lodge. Everything is way over priced. We would mostly likely stay someplace else due to price. It's not like they offered anything special. You rent the gold cart to drive 1 mile into town. We started walking and although it was hot, we felt better and healthier.
