Great stay. Lots of freebies to do while you are here. The staff are friendly. The price is affordable. Certainly better than other places on the peninsula.

The Belize Ocean Club, totally by coincidence, will be one of my favorite spots on earth. Placencia is such a quiet little town, so different from the hustle and bustle of other Caribbean destinations; and the Belize Ocean Club is a gem. You can lounge on the beach or pool and just relax - a cherished and often-forgotten activity in today's world.

The pool bar and restaurant serve great lunch and 16 degrees on the Lagoon side of the resort has a fantastic dinner. I admittedly opted either to sleep in or go on excursions and thus did not have breakfast, but I'm sure that's just as good.

The rooms - especially for the price - are incredible. My one-bedroom suite on the pool-side of the resort was spacious and charming, and the hotel has options for more bedrooms if you opt to travel with the family or others.

PERFECTION!!!!!!!!! We stayed here for a 3 night stay October 10-13, 2017 and could not have been happier with everything. The resort is beautiful and the entire staff is more than fabulous! We "Packed With A Purpose," and the staff made arrangements to take us to the local school to personally donate the school supplies we brought. Again, back to the staff..The entire staff from the Front Desk, to the Security Guards were all very professional and each and everyone of them went above the call of duty for us. Thank you so much to the entire staff! We will be back next year! Marcia (Wisconsin, USA) and Lisa (Illinois, USA)

My wife and I planned to go to this hotel for our anniversary however, we found out after booking that we are expecting our first child. With the known risks of ZIKA, issued by the CDC, we decided to cancel rather than risk our child having a lifetime of birth defects. They refused our request for a refund stating that Zika is not a threat. I'm sorry but this hotel is not the foremost expert on Zika and doesn't have more information than the CDC. Completely ridiculous that they are arrogant enough to gamble with my unborn child's life. I can only imagine what they are like in person.

While this place looked nice from the road, the manager would not allow me inside the gate to see the pool area, or the beach views for safety reasons. This is the down time and renovations are going on everywhere, but that seemed a bit odd. This was a property tour declined while the hotel was empty.

Our time at the Belize Ocean Club was very nice. The Resort spans both sides of the main road that traverses the peninsula. Belize is an amazingly beautiful country with so much to offer. Our Two bedroom, Two bath suite was very nice and well decorated and presented very well.

Customer Service - Our check in experience was smooth and we had a great conversation with the agent who welcomed us to the area and gave us a great overview of the resort and what is nearby. They have an “Adventure Desk” where you can book all of your excursions - We did learn that they charge more than the vendors do so below I have concluded the contact details to the services that are available in Belize so you can save hundreds of dollars.

Facilities/Amenities- The resort is absolutely overdue for a refresh. The Pool is missing several tiles and is not as large as the pictures make it seem. After speaking to the front desk, I did learn they are expecting a refresh in the coming weeks, so for future travelers this will not be an issue. The rooms are nice, clean and well manicured. If you want to use the kitchen, call in advance to request flatware and cookware. They also offer free bike rentals which come in handy to travel to nearby restaurants and bowling alley or just to ride to the local grocery store to get a few items.

Food - This is where it became monotonous - the food doesn’t change and there is only one restaurant and one menu. After a few days you’d rather cook your own food or travel down the road the Maya Beach Bistro which has AMAZING food! Much better than our resort (and less expensive also).

Price/Value - Given we did not get the all-inclusive package - we are satisfied with the price and value we received. The quickly made friends with the drivers so that we could travel to the store, different restaurants and places on the peninsula.

TL;DR: We greatly appreciated our time there but we are unconvinced if we would stay there again. The rooms were great but the food was limited and lacking. The Pool needs help and it has a very shallow beach. Great time in Belize - most of it took place off the resort.

The place overall is nice, but not the luxury that we expected. The first night a couple we met asked if it was what we anticipated upon arrival no. Apparently theirs wasn't either. A few clear items that kicked off our stay with Belize Ocean Club we booked an ocean front room. Well when you arrive you will find that in fact they are all ocean front. One is sunrise and on the actual ocean front and the other is sunset and on the other side of the street / lagoon side. We also filtered our search tabs on places only with hot tubs. My boyfriend and I both have bad backs and in the car, plane all day getting there followed by active days - that is one of the main things that helps us feel better, relax and able to sleep. This whole point is simply the principal - it clearly states SPA TUB on "things to do". When we got there the nice person showing us around said that they are both broken two! Assuming that means the 12% resort fees that we all pay to maintain the property are being spent on something else. The next problem that I had was the Asst. Manager came down to listen to my complaint and said oh the spa tub is what is in your room, not here - these are baby pools. HA! Well, the entire stay there was not 1 kid in those pools. Groups of adults, pairs and singles but never a child. They are about 4 feet deep with built in seats and jets. I didn't feel like continuing the conversation, but come on man I'm not an idiot and those are not baby pools. Obviously accommodating my complaint was not going to happen, but I could have done without belittling my intelligence and a free coke.

Lastly and it's just placement so not the resorts fault, but it's really far out of town. A rental car was nice, but if we didn't have it depending on the hotel provided shuttle would have been super annoying!

We will be back to Placencia - but will not be back to this place. In fact we scoped out the Turtle Inn while we were there and it looked pretty nice!

The epitome of paradise. The Belize Ocean Club is like a luxury hotel with a bed and breakfast feel. The staff is so attentive and warm. The way the hotel is spaced out makes you feel like you're on vacation alone however, there are opportunities to meet other couples and enjoy the beautiful surroundings and water activities. The pictures on the website don't really capture the beauty of this place. Super clean rooms and bathrooms. We had no issues whatsoever. Even the other patrons were pleasant. My only issue was that the food was less than delicious. Breakfast was ok but dinner wasn't delicious. The presentation was fabulous but the flavors just weren't there. It's worth it to eat there once but there are other great restaurants on the peninsula. We drove down from Belize City which was an adventure that I recommend but not necessary. I would go back again and again.

Went here for our honeymoon and were pleasantly surprised. All services including adventures, meals, rides, etc. were all very easy to do and we never felt things were disorganized. The adventures were a blast. We went on the following:
    -Snorkling at Ranguana Caye
    -Ziplining
    -Tubing at the Jaguar Reserve
    -Monkey River animal watching
All were worth it but after seeing the prices outfitters offer in town, they all seemed a bit expensive. The outfitters in town were always between 60-80% of the price the resorts offer.

We'd still recommend this resort. It's beautiful, clean, well organized, and the staff were friendly and more than accommodating.

Great location. Food is a bit pricey, but the entire peninsula is about in line with the resort. Recommend renting a car to explore while you're here.

An ok stay. Not the five star quality of service and accommodation that they boast otherwise. Staff is friendly for the most part but lack knowledge and customer service. Rooms and swimming area are a bit underwhelming and slightly not put together. Food is a tad overpriced and not a great quality. Wish we had a better experience while visiting twice.
