After you go to ATM Caves you just can't understand how someone would give less than 5 stars on the feedback. It's an amazing experience, well worth the price. I've paid around 80usd with a guided tour, van and lunch included. Don't miss it.

Very unique and exciting experience - hiking and swimming in an underwater cave with skeltons and ancient artifacts. An adventure and history lesson all in one. Starts with a 40 minute hike to an underground cave followed by spending 2-3 hours in cave, climbing as well as learning from your guide about archeological and historical aspects of the site.

Important to know:

- Must be in good shape to participate, less about cardiovascular (its not extremely intense from a heart rate perspective) but more strong enough to lift yourself climbing, ability to swim (some parts are fully underwater) and agile enough to make your way around a cave with lots on climbing, transitions from walking to swimming and slippery rocks.

- Wear sneakers and clothes you don't mind getting wet.

- No cameras/phones/items of any kind allowed inside caves.

- You are required to go with a licensed tour guide, no DIY option. Bus tours leave from San Ignacio, Ambregis Caye and other major tourist areas. Tours from San Ignacio typically cost $90-$125 for a guided group tour and more expensive options (usually $200+ pp) exist for private tours. Tours from the Cayes, which are much further away and require a boat or plane ride, are considerably more expensive (typically $245+). All tours seem to automatically include lunch, soft drinks and transportation.

You can't miss this. Absolutely fantastic experience. You just have to know how to swim and do not be afraid of narrow spots. You will also see skeletons and you also have to climb a little. Unfortunately it's forbidden to export cameras.

There are no words to describe this experience. There are no videos you will find online to capture everything that you see, hear and feel inside this cave. Absolutely the coolest experience of our lives. A little more physically demanding than advertised (but more than worth it). Only thing that was a bummer is that you are no longer able to bring cameras inside the cave. Wish I could give 6 stars though

Unbelievable day trip! Take a boat from Ambergris Cay, catch a plane in San Pedro to Belize City, get ride to the edge of farmland, another ride into “jungle” via more local land with history explained all along the way. Then a few swims and walks through the river, a hike through the jungle - and there it is! The most amazing adventure! Sacrifices to the Maya gods from food to people. This place is so protected and intact. You cannot take pictures. I highly advise finding a local guide (there are only 27 as I am told) and check out their pics. You swim, rock climb, walk through a variety of water and twists and turns. A few get narrow. Sit a foot or fly down other rocks, climb a ladder and behold scenes so surreal you will be transported back in time. Amigos Tours- joe drive and Ian toured. Great in knowledge, professionalism and just nice guys. Do look into what tonreally bring and not being as some advertising is not really useful. I might put that in trip advisor if indont see it. Yes it was a bit pricy but when/where in the world can you do something this extraordinary.

Great spelunking day through the cave network. We booked through our hostel Bella's backpackers and we got picked up at 8AM. When you get there make sure you use the washrooms as you don't be able to do your business inside the cave. Also you get wet crossing the river on the way to the entrance right away so wear appropriate clothing (bathing suit / non cotton shirt) and footwear. I wore Teva sandals with straps and it was perfect and I didn't ruin a pair of shoes. Your guide will explain a lot during the tour and it's captivating so listen up.

Really nice trip! A day in the jungle. 45 min of walk at first and crossing in the river. Then 2 hours in the cave. Plenty of Mayan artefacts and bones 💀. The guide was excellent. Be careful that you light is working. They provide everything (shoes, light, helmet, food and drinks) a bit expensive but really worth it!!!

Pretty badass but you should be careful. There are a lot of places where you could seriously injure yourself (slippery rocks, high falls, sharp rocks, etc). Awesome experience overall.

We went with Ka'ana's (resort) guide which was pretty pricy ($200pp) but well worth it - it was just us two and the guide. We left the resort at 7 am, arrived around 8 and did the main part of the cave in about 4-5 hrs. Got back to the resort by about 2:30 ready for a nap.

Incredible and unique experience. Four hour expedition starting from the parking lot. Swimming, climbing, and maneuvering through a cave to reach pottery and bones. The cave itself is 3+ miles but tour is only about 1/4 mile in (~1 hour). Definately do this if you are physical able and ok with the occasional tight space. Nothing is allowed in the cave (camera, phone, etc)

This was a once in a lifetime experience swimming and scaling through underground caverns to see Mayan sacrificial skeletons. Gliss our guide was excellent and the whole day was fantastic including being 'flushed down' a narrow waterchute, standing in pitch black and squeezing through narrow gaps 😊 an experience like no other.

This was by far the best excursion I have been on abroad. I loved the hike on the trail, the swim across the river and most of all the cave itself. I was awestruck by the stalactites and stalagmites that have taken millions of years to form. It's so much more interesting to see chards of pottery in their original locations rather than in a museum. The ATM is a must for anyone visiting Belize.

LOVED this place and this activity. I've done many adventurous things, seen amazing things and the ATM caves rates near the top of all. Aaron from MayaWalks was an excellent tour guide. I just wish I could stay a few days in there. Really special and fun.
